SAN FRANCISCO (KPIX 5) – The state of California is studying ways to suspend financial transfers to Washington after the Trump administration threatened to withhold federal money from sanctuary cities, KPIX 5 has learned.

“California could very well become an organized non-payer,” said Willie Brown, Jr, a former speaker of the state Assembly in an interview recorded Friday for KPIX 5’s Sunday morning news.

“They could recommend non-compliance with the federal tax code.”

At that point they are in open rebellion and have, effectively declared war. I hope they are ready for the reply.

That’s fine. Lots of money to be made for failure to pay penalties

It’s essentially the same proposal they floated in 1861 - without the artillery.

Talk about opening a can of worms.

OK, so what does this mean, for those of us who get a paycheck from an employer? Are they not going to withhold federal income tax, social security tax, Medicare tax, from our paychecks and remit to the feds????

What about when it’s time to file our income tax returns? Do we still owe????? When the IRS comes after us individual taxpayers, is the state of California going to shield us from federal government action somehow???

So now liberals are all about state’s rights???? Really??? As opposed to the overarching power of the federal government compelling us to follow their laws and policies??? I can’t believe it..........

Definitely a step in the right direction. Next step is to revoke their statehood and give them a single not voting representative in the house like Guam has. They don't need to leave the union, just revert to territorial status.

Ask them to set a special election date for their sole representative in Washington and any who don't wish to compete for the slot can pack up and move out of their offices in the House and Senate.

I always thought that the 49 star flag which we had for a few months in 1959 looked kind of cool with the seven rows of seven stars.

I, for one, am happy to hear that payment of federal taxes is simply optional and that you can stop doing so whenever you like, without any consequences.

I just wish California had told me this earlier. Oh well. I plan to watch California closely, to see if I learn any other valuable lessons as this situation unfolds ...

Our California governments, state and local, have been in rebellion for a long time. They serve the interests of foreign nationals, foreign gov’ts, and the businesses who collaborate with them.

It’s just that now those of you outside the state are seeing what’s been going on here for years.

Trump needs to invade.

If California confiscates my IRS and SS withholdings, who pays my tax bill on April 15? If I cannot pay twice, do I go to jail? Sorta fun watching liberal heads exploding.

I’m with you. Not ALLOWED to leave the union. Should be busted down to a Territory with a military governor appointed by the President Trump.

What BS. They will lose when all funds to California dry up. And President Trump could ban all new government activities—conferences and meetings—and direct DoD to move their activities and ships out. Play hardball and they fold before the ink is dried.

Better question. How will California respond when they shut off the valve from Lake Mead.

America is under attack not only from the outside (foreigners) but from Liberals and Evil Democrats. We must not be defeated without taking a stand. Foreigners can Demonstrate in our streets against us and Evil Democrats like Jerold Nader stand with them. Folks it is time for America to stand for its own safety.
STAND UP AND BE FIRM FOR YOUR CHILDREN AND THEIR FUTURE. Now may be our last hope and chance. Support Trump from within and without
Democrats have sold out to Satan.
