One of the most prominent Catholic leaders in North Jersey took a stand against President Donald Trump and his anti-immigration executive orders that call for closing the borders and building a wall along Mexico.  The Archbishop of Newark, Cardinal Joseph W. Tobin, said in a statement Friday the president's actions were "not rational acts," calling the orders "inhuman policies." The Cardinal, who has been at the Vatican this week for meetings, vowed to keep helping refugees resettle despite Trump's orders barring those immigrating from war-torn Muslims countries from entering the United States.

"Wednesday's Executive Actions do not show the United States to be an open and welcoming nation," Tobin said. "They are the opposite of what it means to be an American."

I think it’s very ‘human’ to protect American citizens from savages. What could be more human?

Maybe the archbishop should go tend the flock in those lands where they are being treated inhumanely and try to help the poor bastards where they need it most.

And the media monkeys knew he would say that. That’s why they interviewed him.

In the game of chess, the Bishop (which represents the Church) moves in an oblique manner, and is perhaps one of the less reliable pieces. While the Bishop may be used in the overall strategy, its range of motion restricts where and how it may be placed, and failure to take this characteristic into consideration may seriously threaten the course of the play, putting both the King and Queen at risk, sometimes unnecessarily.

There are many much better chess players out there than myself, but I can appreciate some of the nuances.

We just want the same type of wall that the pope enjoys around his property.

Does anyone know if Catholic Charities is REALLY connected to the Catholic Church?

Same problem with the Catholic Campaign for Human Development. Those two foundations in particular are so involved with the secular Left, money given to them would wind up going to anti-Catholic, anti-American causes. So we abstain, when the basket is passed our way on their behalf.

Tobin (1) was appointed by Francis, to replace a conservative archbishop who (a) requested communion be withheld from abortion supporters, and (b) suspended a pro-gay priest. (2) has shied away from what he calls “devisive” issues, presumably gay marriage and abortion.

Oddly, he jumps right into the fry with this one.

Seems to be a Francis globalist plant.

I’m very close to Catholicism in the same box with Islam. Not a religion. A political ideology.

If this Catholic leader breaks The law by helping illegals come here, he should be charged with s crime

It’s because of tools such as this idiot and anti-Pope Francis that I now no longer self-identify as Catholic. Really tried to gut it out. Just can’t take it anymore.

Note: I did not leave the Church. The Church has left me. And yes, it is very upsettting.

This is the result of the socialist infiltrating the Catholic Church. Of course they want to maximize the number of immigrants. It guarantees more Democrat voters.

Wonder if the good Cardinal has bothered to criticize the government of the countries that cause these refugees to flee to our country?
