I don't necessarily agree with Trump's view on protectionist tariffs, but Trump is generally starting to move us in the right direction for the first time in a long time - since Reagan really. Thank God.

NAFTA and TPP were a plan to steal America’s wealth and send it to other countries . NAFTA worked great for them not USA.
TPP was worse. Trump stopped TPP
Trump is right on that too. He has to correct those and have leverage.

Thank you for the post. I liked the trip through the White House to the address room.
The speech was short, to the point, anyone could understand it. May President Trump and his entire administration look to God before making ANY decisions.
May God Bless President Trump and Vice President Pence and may God Bless America. Let us all seek God’s guidance in working together to “Make God’s America Great Again”

Free Traitors hate protective tariffs because apparently they have never read a history book.
Looked at the counters after I watched it...

I agree. Protectionism is not good...but it’s good to challenge other countries on their protectionism.
Some of our treaties didn’t do this. I think things will work out fine with Mexico, actually, because Trump’s attack is really what Pena Nieto needed to enable him to root out the corruption, crime and left-wing union activism that has paralyzed the Mexican economy and forced hard-working Mexicans to flee. So this will work out well.
A treaty must be beneficial to both sides, and thus will grow the economy on both sides. Mexico got a favorable deal but didn’t grow their domestic economy because they didn’t feel they needed to do so.
As for the rest of the world, I’m glad he’s taking on China (heavily protectionist) and our other trading partners.
Another thing that nobody takes into account is how internet commerce has changed trade relationships, so all treaties entered into in the last 20 years or so need to be renegotiated.
Oh look. No “filtering” required.
MSwho?
Think about that for a second.
How resiliant, how powerful -- how EXCEPTIONAL -- is America that it survived twenty-eight years of minor and major malfeasance in our President?
Trump was 100% correct on that the US is better off using bi-lateral agreements vs. the use of multi-lateral agreements, since we are always the larger trading partner.
The US got screwed and should have been able to keep tariffs in place during the Japanese steel cases in the 1980’s. Reviving an American steel industry is a matter of national security. Imagine if we went to war with any Asian country...think they will export steel to us to help the US war effort?
Not a chance.
