Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX): Press is ‘healthy’ adversary, not ‘opposition party’
Austin American-Statesman ^ | Jan. 27, 2017 | Sean Collins Walsh

“It’s fair to say the press and politicians have always had somewhat of an adversarial relationship,” Cornyn said at a meeting of the Texas Hospital Association in Austin. “My view is you have your job to do, I’ve got my job to do, and I’m fine with that. But I think (administration officials) feel somewhat aggrieved by some of the unfair coverage that they’ve gotten and they’re entitled to their opinion. I would call it, as opposed to the opposition party, I would say it’s a healthy adversarial relationship.”

This tells me everything about Cornyn, but nothing about the press.

One of those stupid “turn the other cheek” dopes that think taking it and “praying for their souls” is how you beat them.

Cornyn has been a suckup turncoat as long as I can remember. So, since I’m actually older than dirt, Cornyn has been there waaaaay past his usefullness; IF he ever actually had any.

The Press is nothing more than a group of commie sycophants with pens.

Cornyn is another Democrat in an R jersey that needs to be Cantorized. Doesn’t Texas have anyone who isn’t a Democrat in an R jersey to primary this guy?

you were one of the MANY idiots bitching about Senator Cruz and paying no attention to reality.

Cornyn won the Primary and is there for SIX years as the No. TWO man to the Turtle

Absolutely wrong. The "press" is basically blood family with the Democrat party. They are either blood related, or through marriage, but the "press" really is the Democrat party.

Why would someone refer to corrupt, scurillous behavior, that openly flaunts generally accepted professional standards, as “healthy”? Cronyn and the main-stream press: birds of a feather.

I hope Greg Abbot runs against Cornyn if Cornyn decides to run again.

We've been trying, but seems his name recognition keeps him going. That, and plenty of GOPe in Texas can't hear past his forked tongue.

Cornyn is up again in 2020, that gives Texans enough time to find a suitable replacement that is not named Bush.

You can keep Ted Cruz for as long as you want as Senator, he is showing himself to be an asset to Trump.
He is ineligible to be President.
