Illinois bond rating is at JUNK BOND status. I live here, I know. The state cannot borrow more money without paying a HIGH PREMIUM for it. With taxpayers leaving this state in droves, there's just no way Illinois can EVER pay its debt obligations.

I'm on the Illinois side of the Illinois/Indiana border. As soon as my divorce is finished hopefully in February, I'm moving across the border to Indiana. By doing so, I'll be putting anywhere from 8-10k back in my pocket EVERY YEAR just in property tax savings. If we could the money I'll save by not paying Illinois' repressive INCOME TAX which is on the verge of being DOUBLED in this state, that number goes up to 14-16k/year.

Financially speaking, anyone who stays in this state is flat out batshit crazy, just like my soon to be ex-wife.
