Fake News: Media Reports State Dept. ‘Mass Resignation,’ Officials Actually Fired
Breitbart ^ | January 26, 2017 | by JOHN HAYWARD

Today’s Fake News freakout began with a buzzing swarm of headlines about “mass resignations” by the “entire senior level of management officials” at the State Department resigning in some stunning act of protest against President Trump. Before long, we learned we were talking about four people, and they did not resign, they were fired.

“The State Department’s Entire Senior Management Team Just Resigned,” gasped the Washington Post, prompting a ripple of secondary headlines across mediaspace. Some of those headlines were a bit more cautious, such as the Jerusalem Post reporting that the State Department team resigned “in a possibly coordinated walkout.”

As it turns out, that “walkout” was coordinated by the Trump administration:

If Kennedy couldn’t see the “you’re fired” messaging coming down, I suppose The Donald COULD have told them: “Hey, that wall on our south border’s coming soon, and I could have had somebody spray paint on it, ‘You’re fired! Patrick Kennedy!’ — just to ensure you could read the ‘handwriting on the wall’...but we can’t afford ‘derelictionists’ like you who authorize unsecured networks & then cover it all up when caught.”

They aren’t fired. And they did not walk out. They resigned as a normal course of events. Obama asked for everyone’s resignation in January. So, Trump has the resignations the first day in office. And he can choose who's to accept and who's he will reject. This is a normal thing that occurs for 4000 or more federal employees that are considered political. These include every ambassador.

Its normal for the new administration to accept most of the resignations, especially if there is a change of party. Its normal for some others to resign knowing that they will be demoted or brushed aside when policies change. This story and the story about the story are both spun to make it seem like this situation is not expected and normal.

They know what they’re doing. Like with the MLK bust thing. Damage has already been done.

Lots of people are not paying attention. They will only hear the shout of the charge, and not hear the whisper of the correction.

I’ve decided that WaPo, THE primary purveyor of fake news at this juncture, is simply not interested in making money via subscription or readership that supports advertising revenue, but has deliberately decided to be the mother-ship of fake news, rumor, anonymous sources, innuendo, and sundry other forms of misinformation regarding the Trump administration because they know that hundreds of other media outlet will republish their lies verbatim without independent verification of veracity, and then should WapPo subsequently append corrections (or their readership commentary points out the truth of the matter), WaPo knows that none of that will alter the false stories republished by those hundreds of media drones.

In other words, WaPo’s fundamental mission in life right now to distribute anti-Trump agitprop as far and wide as possible without regard to consequence.

It is indeed #FakeNews by the Washington Post.

The four officials who resigned are with the Undersecretary for Management, as in management of employees and basic logistics (hiring, EEOC, complying with civil service regs, union grievances, keeping the toilets clean and the lawns mowed, keeping the computers secure, communications, etc). It does not set policy. It is a rather minor part of the State Department.

The WaPo breathlessly hyped it by writing rather misleadingly that Secretary of State Rex Tillerson’s job running the State Department just got considerably more difficult. The entire senior level of management officials resigned Wednesday, part of an ongoing mass exodus of senior Foreign Service officers who don’t want to stick around for the Trump era. Tillerson's job actually got easier. Why? Because he can now put his own people in for dealing with the civil service, govt unions, etc.

The truth is that 'Management' is a rather minor section. It is internal and does not set policy. The WaPo is blowing it way out of proportion by not explaining what the Undersecretary of Management actually does and in making it seem more important than it actually is on the org chart.

I hope “gone” means “lost their job and booted off the roll.” Because a firing (or whatever) in DC often means being flushed from under one rock only to scurry under a new one. With the hiring freeze on, it should mean they’ve really been booted out.
