U.S. Army tanks recently deployed to Europe arrived at a port in Germany, some of them with dead batteries and without sufficient fuel.

The Wall Street Journal reported this week on logistical challenges that the U.S. military faced when sending an armored unit of 4,000 soldiers and 90 tanks to Europe in order to protect NATO member states and deter Russian aggression.

This whole pile of BS with Barkydoodle sending our soldiers to the Polish border to irritate Russia set off alarms about another set up of our young soldiers. Kind of like when he sent 100 soldiers to the sandbox and then announced where they were... Why would anybody but an enemy of USA do that?

It sounds like a big mess, I thought our Military was better than this, if this is any idea of what we are facing, we have A LOT of work to do!!!

Maybe they should have observed a Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) in action.

Most likely sent with uncharged batteries in order to make sure there were no fires.

Just jump them and move them out.

Lt. Gen. Ben Hodges, the commander of U.S. Army Europe, revealed that some of the tanks arrived in the port city of Bremerhaven, Germany, with dead batteries as a result of a mistake by the contractor. Some of the tanks also did not have full fuel.

Sounds like the contractor failed to meet the scope of work, which means they shouldn't be paid for services not rendered. Whoever the G-4s are need to consider a career change, for not conducting oversight on two pretty basic components for shipping/receiving a major end item.

Maybe they should have ordered some of those portable jump starters from HSN or QVC.. real cheap... not sure if they’d turn a tank engine over tho.. or they could have had them converted to solar.. Damn that Obammy.. squandered all that stimulus and sequestered the rest..

That would be a logistics issue, something like a Colonel directing supplies, in charge of batteries and fuel, along with everything from bunks to toilet paper.

This whole pile of BS with Barkydoodle sending our soldiers to the Polish border to irritate Russia...

But it was the O admin who (intentionally) strengthened Russia's military, with their "flexible" deals on missile defense and nukes, including the Iran nuke deal that Putin likes so much. This while they (the O admin) practically took apart our own military.

Donald Trump: 'Putin has eaten Obama's lunch, therefore our lunch, for a long period of time'

Mar 13, 2014
Eun Kyung Kim: TODAY SHOW (NBC)

Donald Trump slammed President Obama Thursday on TODAY for failing to take a stronger line against President Vladimir Putin in dealing with Ukraine, saying he feared Obama would now make up for lost time with imprudent moves to "show his manhood."

The real estate mogul and reality-TV star, who has criticized Putin for sending military troops into Crimea, said Obama must now take fierce steps to prevent the situation from escalating further.

"We should definitely do sanctions and we have to show some strengths. I mean, Putin has eaten Obama's lunch, therefore our lunch, for a long period of time," Trump said. ..."

Trump says NATO is obsolete but still ‘very important to me’

Reuters
January 16, 2017

LONDON (Reuters) - U.S. President-elect Donald Trump said NATO was obsolete because it had not defended against terror attacks, but that the military alliance was still very important to him, The Times of London reported.

“I took such heat, when I said NATO was obsolete,” Trump told the newspaper in an interview. “It’s obsolete because it wasn’t taking care of terror. I took a lot of heat for two days. And then they started saying Trump is right.”

Trump added that many NATO members were not paying their fair share for U.S. protection.

“A lot of these countries aren’t paying what they’re supposed to be paying, which I think is very unfair to the United States,” Trump said. “With that being said, NATO is very important to me. There’s five countries that are paying what they’re supposed to. Five. It’s not much.”

Likely the officers have been investing time making sure the men’s rooms have the right shade of lavendar and fresh flowers, and doing sensitivity training. Mattis will be going in a less PC direction in a few minutes.

What sort of “mistake” results in a dead battery. What, did they leave the lights on?

Why is a contractor involved?

There are a lot of parasitic power drains in modern vehicles. They probably just failed to remove the battery cable if it does not have a master that cuts power to everything.

Considering how much the new CIC hates incompetence, I expect there’ll be hell to pay for someone somewhere.
