It’s not stupid. Build a refuge for them there instead of having them come here.
The problem I see is that it’s not clear who these refugees are seeking refuge from. The rebels want asylum from Assad and the Assad supporters want asylum from the rebels and they all want asylum from ISIS.
And how do you do that without U.S. troops?
In Syria, where ISIS and other jihadi groups run wild and have plenty of weapons and bombs, it would take a full division to protect every camp.
And, I agree, it’s stupid to suggest that should be a US division.
Those camps will be under constant attack, or they will be havens for terrorists to rest up and get medical care.
Or both.
