Anyone who holds public office HAS to follow the laws of the land-—otherwise he has to be removed!!!! Why don’t they have Federal agents removing him from office immediately. These “Laws’ not enforced are getting citizens killed.
Also look for a new city income/sales tax as well in order to make up for lost federal aid.

Property taxes are tightly controlled in California and a city cannot violate prop 13.

I understand the gentle 'money talks' approach - but these mayors and governors are breaking the law. A Nation without border control is not a nation.
These mayors and governors are publicly advocating breaking the law - or selectively choosing which laws to be followed (I'm sure they'd come down like a ton of bricks on some citizen who refused to pay some city regulatory fee).
If the 'gentle' approach doesn't work, the law breaking mayors should be arrested for subversion.

prop 13 allowed for minimal increased. Most cities and counties run 1.15 to 1.2% now, some 39 years later.
That extra .2% won’t be enough if President Trump cuts off fed aid to those cities, and by extension, the state.
That would be good -- no payment in certain zip codes.
