A mangled quote by ABC News about White House press secretary Sean Spicers job performance forced the network to apologize late Tuesday.
Complaints by former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer regarding the way Nightline represented his opinions prompted him to defend President Trumps attacks on the media. The network said it would fix a Monday segment that chopped comments about Mr. Spicer that could be misconstrued.
Nightline aired a segment Monday night about the first three days of the new administration including Sean Spicers statement to the press on Saturday, the network said in statement, The Hill reported Wednesday. As part of the report, we interviewed former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer. In editing the piece for air, his quote was shortened and as a result his opinions mischaracterized. We are fixing the piece online to include his full quote and context. We apologize and regret the error.

They only “apologized” after they got caught — doing it on purpose.
That will be $500,000 from the news boss’ personal retirement account package. Next time, it’s more.
I noticed that Spicer went to The Washington Times first when the question segment of today’s press conference started.
I hope the enemedia was fuming over this.
Detestable ABC!
Get Yer Fake News Here!
I absolutely despise the MSMLSD. Right now they’re only good pandering to the Left and other liberals. No credibility what so ever.
I love that these people are FINALLY being called out on this crap. They have done this stuff for far too long!!!
“We are fixing the piece online to include his full quote and context.”
Too late. Everyone already saw it. Just please find another profession within your limited capability.
If the media told me France was in Europe, I’d triple check that information. They just lie so much.
They have full-time people working on mangling quotes, that's what they do... deliberately. These aren't mistakes. These ABC news people are evil. They need to be castrated. Spicer shouldn't allow questions from each news network that mangles information, for at least several months. I'm happy that President Trump fights back, unlike other Republicans who whimper and let the liberals walk all over them.
Sure a lot of apologizing going on!
I hope they apologize for using a miss displayed American flag in their logo for their “First Interview” of our President. The star field goes to the upper left you blankedy blanks.
But I know that black holes will evaporate before these Frankfurt School lackies would show some shame for such things.
