Here in New Mexico we are stuck on stupid.

Our Republican Governor gets into a war of words with the candidate that eventually gets elected President. This in a state that is HUGELY dependent on federal dollars (several Air Force bases, Sandia Labs, Los Alamos Labs, etc). We have one Republican representing the state in congress.

At a time where other (smart) states are becoming business friendly and anti-illegal immigration, we are going the other direction.

Freaking geniuses in Santa Fe...

I am a Coloradan, but I have been in and around New Mexico a lot. I have noticed in the last several years how stark the differences are becoming between the two states. Colorado is booming, but New Mexico is stagnant. Lots of towns have so many abandoned homes it is more of a ruin than a town. Very sad.

Our neighboring states seem to keep on keeping on ... New Mexico not so much. Of course they blame Republican Susanna Martinez - first hispanic woman governor - for everything that is wrong here even though she has only been gov since 2011. The dims have controlled both state houses for decades except for the 2015-2016 legislature when the GOP had the house - but that’s over now.

The real problem that no one addresses is the IQ of the avg New Mexican. They simply don’t get or refuse to see that they are at the top and bottom of all the wrong lists thanks to the dims running this state for the last 60-70 years - they are proud of that here.

Now we watch our incompetent politicians frantically racing around trying to keep the state solvent while simultaneously deciding to lower that IQ even further by officially welcoming the professional leeches of modern society to the trough. What could possibly go wrong?
