The problem with that idea is that some people do the right thing but everyone who gets a driver’s license automatically gets registered to vote. My wife gets a voter registration card whenever she renews her DL. She always calls and informs the registrar that she is on a green card and cannot vote. The next time she gets a DL, she gets a voter card. It happens every time. They need to get rid of the BJ Clinton “motor voter” law.

Not a problem, limit penalties to those who actually voted. the grace period should allow time for all permanent residents to check their status with Board of Elections.

Agree. During the 90’s, the Motor-Voter Law started the downward spiral of beautiful California. Of course, the continuing elections of so many Democrats has nearly completed the destruction.
