Yes.

I am a *English should be declared the national language* kind of person.

My grandparents came here on the boat through Ellis Island in their early 20’s

They learned English and could speak it well and read it well. And it was their third language.

Anyone who moves to this country can do the same.

I agree, know English and use your extra language skills maybe to your benefit in employment.
But in my grand parent’s day there was no help if you could not make it on your own unless you went to a charity.

We did not pay people to get pregnant multiple times back then without they paying their own expenses.

Big government screwed this up. If you give people other people’s stuff, they will overlook their morality to justify taking from others.
Taking without earning is just selfish and nasty.
