Two days after President Donald Trump took office, the Taliban asked him to remove all U.S. troops from Afghanistan but hinted at a willingness to work with the United States.
The insurgent group posted a statement on its website Sunday calling on Trump to put an end to the invasion. But it also asked him to help countries with their development rather than with bloodshed and destruction.
The call for foreign forces to leave Afghanistan is consistent with past Taliban demands. But the mention of development appeared to be new. In recent months, the group has expressed support for infrastructure and humanitarian projects inside the country.
A Taliban spokesman was not immediately available to clarify the messages intent.

Just leave already.
Nobody wins Afghanistan in a war.
Get out of there.
Just like we left Iraq. Geez, that worked out so swimmingly, didn’t it? Why the H leave a vacuum that ushers in the next Al-Quaida? Not to say we stay forever but as soon as they do their crap again, go in HARD and get out. After about the third try they just might get it.
Institute war footing RoE and clean house.
Crop dust the country with crushed chicharones.

Now THAT is a sign of true winning!!!
Next step: Jobs jobs, jobs.
The 90 million jobless in America need Trump’s utmost attention.
No job —> no future —> no hope —> no life —> isolation from society.

Destroy islamism
The Taliban wouldn’t exist without Pakistan’s ISI. Just nuke Pakistan and everything else will fall into place.

Exactly. I used to catch crap when I pointed that out in the late 90s on FR. Having been there, I know what I’ve seen and how useless Pakistan is...
Of course, we can just let India have at them too.
We should never have tried to tame Afghanistan.
No one ever has and no one ever will.
There was no reason to put the first boot on the ground.
We should have done daily B-52 runs for a month or so after 9/11 bouncing the rubble until nothing was moving and called it a day.
There was never anything in Afghanistan worth one American life.
And even if you did, the prize sucks!
If they want to talk, that means we aren’t killing enough of them. Have them come to us crawling, begging....and then we’ll talk. I say 40-50k dead by the end of the week should get them thinking.
Yup, no way for any progress, ever.
Just need to Roundup the poppies on our way out.

The only way to win in Afghanistan is to kill all the Afghans. Better to allow their normal power structures to take hold and then influence them by hiring them as mercenaries and spies to keep things from getting out of control.
I would wager several GI’s would argue that point with you. Granted, there is an awful lot of bad guyz there but there are also the good. The problem since ousting the Taliban is we have had one president always wanting to win hearts and minds while the other never let it enter his mind to win.
Just go win “Bigly” and when the good see there is a real sheriff in town, will help him get the others who have tried to meld into the woodwork. Until the bad ones are eviscerated, the good ones will not trust us and the cycle will continue.
This is a good read and it’s free right now. I believe it’s on Mattis’ reading list.

Dude, raping little boys is a normal part of their culture. There are no good guys in Afghanistan.
