Two Republican senators on Monday unveiled the outlines of an ObamaCare replacement plan that they hope would be able to attract some Democratic support.
The plan, from Sens. Bill Cassidy (R-La.) and Susan Collins
(R-Maine), contains less drastic changes than some Republican proposals. It envisions keeping many of ObamaCares taxes in place in order to provide revenue for the replacement plan and gives states the choice of whether they want to keep ObamaCare.
Under the plan, known as the Patient Freedom Act, state legislatures would have the choice of whether to keep ObamaCare operating in their states, complete with its subsidies, mandates and protections for people with pre-existing conditions.

If they want to remake it as their own state plan with no federal funding or subsidies for it. Most states will not do that and their citizens should not be paying federal taxes going to help the states that keep it on their own.
Giving the states the option to keep it is fine, but you don’t need a law for that. The states can write their own lives.
Destroy this monster before it destroys us.
When the Dims rammed this turkey down American throats, did they allow states who did not approve of ObummerCare to opt out?
When the voters get fed up with that sort of thing and demand change, Dim wannabes like Bill Cassidy and Susan Collins tie themselves into knots trying to figure out out to salvage as much of the leftist agenda as possible.
If I am correct here, these GOP Senators, on behalf of their respective states, no doubt, want to continue to have the Federal Government pick up at least a healthy portion of the subsidy, if not the entire tab.
Again, if I'm correct here, that's what they're requesting. If that's the case, I'd happily say no. The Feds will no longer tax the states for this bill but neither will they pay for it - you are on your own to make your own choices but also to pay for them!
Legislation proposed by Susan Collins.
All we need to know.
HELL NO! What part of ‘get rid of it’ don’t these idiots get?
Um, NOOOOO
Tom Price WILL GIVE us the plan!!! He has been working on it for years!!!
As long as they fund it in-state, no Fed funds.
It's not "states rights" if you need federal permission for it.

Exactly, on states rights, but need to stress that no federal dollars are involved in whatever fuster-cluck programs those states come up with.
At some point in this process, were going to need a bill that can get 60 votes, Cassidy said
I told everyone before and I will say it again:
OBAMACARE WILL NOT BE REPEALED
If President Trump truly wishes to end Obamacare, there is ONLY ONE WAY to make it happen:
PEACE, The Public Employee Affordable Care Enrollment order.
Simply sign an Executive Order Mandating ALL Federal Employees Immediately sign up for and enroll in the Affordable Care Exchange in the State they Legally Reside and VOID ALL WAIVERS.
Within 30 days you have a bill Repealing Obamacare with UNANIMOUS SUPPORT from BOTH Parties. As soon as they are required to Live under their beloved law, they will repeal it.
Graham and mccain will agree with her too.
Yep...that is a fact!
No!
Romneycare was bad enough, and it served as the model for Obamacare.
Remember the story of Barbara Wagner, who was denied cancer medicine by the state-run medical system in Oregon? (She only lived as long as she did because the evil pharmaceutical company gave her the medicine.) There will be millions more like her if states get to keep their Obamacare systems.
Not that our “progressive” friends care.
Wow...that is a great idea!
We won.
Burn ObamaCare to the ground, and salt the metaphorical earth it stood on. No more government-mandated "healthcare" plans. No more.
“Tom Price WILL GIVE us the plan!!! He has been working on it for years!!!”
I share your confidence in Price. Fingers crossed and powder dry.
Noooooooooo!!! CA would keep it!!!!!! It destroys medicine.
Take Socialism.
Give it Republican-sounding name.
Voila!
