Use America's veto power to put an end to idiotic and wasteful programs, go in and audit UN agencies, expose the corruption, make it so the cockroaches that infest the organization have no dark corners to hide in.
The alternative, leaving the UN, simply means that the next liberal who comes to office will just rejoin and we'll return to the organization without the veto power, an organization even more rife with corruption.
There are a lot of things to think about and likely pull out of. I don't think the UN is one of those things; the part that needs to be abandoned is our pacifist strategy in letting the organization run roughshod over our interests and supporting corrupt governments and breeding corruption around the world.
It cant be fixed.Pull out and let it collapse.They will become irrelevant soon after.Just like the league of nations.
Audit the UN. Find every bit of fraud and arrest, convict and jail every criminal that has defrauded the people of the world. And take it to the Hague to show this isn’t a US action, but a people of the world action.
So, you claim to be a conservative but think a socialist model of education can be fixed and is acceptable. If only Stalin through Gorbachev had had your advice on fixing Soviet Collective farms and Soviet heavy industry...
The UN serves no useful purpose other than providing “jobs” that allow political appointees to feel important and bureaucrats to live a lifestyle beyond what their abilities would otherwise give them. It is an empire of kleptocrats and peds.
I’m torn. Maybe keep the veto vote and stop funding it.
“Refreshing with a new staff” only works if the administrative/bureaucratic body is GONE! That’s why we need to get rid of the UN!
If we drive the UN out of the US, it will go somewhere else where other country/countries will then have greater world influence. I’m with you, fix what needs fixing. Don’t give up the subtle power we have with it in the US. I’m sure that Russia would love to have it there, as would China.
