You would be wrong. Embarrassed, angry, and confused, the Left is simply doubling down on the behavior and the rhetoric that drove large numbers of Americans to vote for Trump in the first place. If youre a liberal and you want to greatly increase Trumps chances for re-election in 2020, here are four easy steps you can take to make that a reality.
1. Deny the Legitimacy of the Election Results The election had barely been called when liberals began claiming it had been a rigged affair. Ari Berman implied that the GOPs attack on voting rights was a likely source of Trumps victory, as did Mark Joseph Stern. Paul Krugman, who seemed to suffer a nervous breakdown after the election, insisted repeatedly that the election was hacked, chalking up Trumps win to subversion perpetrated by a foreign power and a rogue domestic law enforcement agency.
2. Disparage and Demean Your Fellow Americans Suffice it to say that many liberals were dismayed and upset by the election results. Thats understandable, particularly given how highly charged the election had been. Yet the liberal response to Trumps victory went above and beyond simple disappointment: American progressives turned on tens of millions of their fellow Americans and accused them of rank bigotry and hatred.
3. De-Normalize Trump Voters Liberals, you dont have to agree with Trump voters, hang out with them, or like them. But your efforts to bar your Trump-supporting fellow Americans from polite society are only going to backfire on you.
4. Pile on the Elite Liberal Sanctimony Of all the ineffective ways to combat a Trump presidency and weaken his chances for re-election, having elite liberal celebrities lecture the country with a hearty dose of sanctimonious moralizing may rank at the top.

First we as a Culture failed to slap down them and their bullshit 50 years ago and now, post obozo, they BELIEVE their own bullshit. We’re gonna have a prole with these people. They’re convinced of their correctness.
should be: problem.
Bkmk
The polling tightened in OH the last few days. So, hillary brought LeBron, JayZ, and Beyoncé to Cleveland to tell people how to vote. hillary lost by TWICE the polled expected margin! Yeah, suburban folks were not amused.
In addition to LOCK HER UP, we should add:
LOCK THEM UP!
Actually; prole might be a good term for what needs to be done to them.
Make them work a real job. Hopefully in the sun somewhere.
I see in other articles today that Michael Moore did indeed exhort yesterday’s (pro-abortion only) Women to make some efforts to elect people who shared their opinion. That would be a step in the right direction for them.
But the signage I saw on TV and in photographs showed the typical lack of focus to the cause at hand, the usual ad hominem insults, vague virtue signaling (”Love wins”), and random shrieks (”I have a voice”), that would give no direction to even a friendly Congressman, rather than any concrete suggestions of legislative action.
It will be some number of election cycles until the leftist masses really even hear the message Moore gave, more cycles until they take it to heart, and still more cycles until they begin to act on it as The Tea Party did coincident with the start of the movement.
The leftists actions and lies only made me more willing to vote for Trump.
Maybe they can all get on their knees, and shout NO, NO, NO—like the person I saw last night on Greg Gutfield.
It was just funny when Greg proclaimed he wanted to marry her.
Here is an excerpt from the ending portion of this article....disappointing!
“To be fair, I remain convinced that Trump is likely unfit for office. I am hoping he proves me wrong, but it doesnt look like he will. Just the same, if I wanted to make the case against Trump, I wouldnt do so with a supercilious, stupid cartoon that doesnt even make a good analogy about the presidential election. Cartoons like this simply offend people and make them more resistant to hearing your point.
In addition to believing he is not fit for the office of the presidency, I have another problem with Trump: he is not a conservative, and thus his presidency will surely further the cause of big government. In some ways, for my purposes, it would have been better if Clinton won the presidency last year. She would have been just as liberal as Trump, if not more, but we could have counted on strong Republican opposition to counteract her liberal agenda. Under Trump, the GOP will likely go along with his domestic policy, whichalthough his cabinet may be able to prevent thiswill likely not be very conservative at all.
I say all of this to offer liberals this assurance: barring a conservative miracle from the Trump administration, I, too, will want Trump out of office in 2020, either to another GOP challenger or to a Democrat against which conservatives will more fully unite. When I ask liberals to stop with their disastrous, self-defeating Trump opposition, Im asking of them a personal favor. For goodnesss sake, ignore your own awful political impulses and try something different this time.
I will spend the next four years defending conservative values and attempting to convince people to vote against Trump if he betrays those values. One thing I will not do, however, is sneer at or condescend to my fellow Americans who genuinely believe Trump is a good president. I want to change their minds, and I wont be able to do that if Im just making fun of them for four years. Neither will you, liberals. But if what you desire is another Trump victory in 2020, by all means, keep doing what youre doing.”
Red Fighting Front is who they are. The fascism is next.
Left is riven by identity politics rather with a debate over a vision for the country.
People don’t like hearing, I’m a woman, I’m black, I’m gay and I’m transgender.
We never heard from the opposition yesterday: I’m an American.
Ironically enough, Chuck Schumer, a man whose politics I loathe, was talking it about the day before at the Inauguration and I agreed with every word he said.
Rare from a conservative like me. No wait - I am an American first.
Trump is a populist.
He has one big idea: return power to the people.
If you think that’s wrong, counter him.
But don’t scream your head off calling him fascist, a whackjob, what have you.
Ideas win.
I’ve been hearing Trump isn’t conservative but looking at his agenda at least his stated one is enough for me. If he even gets a fraction of it to come to pass he will be far more “conservative” than many so called true conservatives. Right off the bat climate change is off the White House website. I am wary because of all the warnings but so far I think most Freepers have a big smile on their faces.
Imagine if the press had been neutered (which is exactly what Trump now has underway) and the GOP had not been sniping at everything he said. The electoral map would have been Reaganesque.
To be fair, I remain convinced that Trump is likely unfit for office.
The President is the CHIEF EXECUTIVE of the Executive Branch. If nothing else, I believe Trump has shown his ability to be an executive in charge of a large organization.
Something few past Presidents have been. (This is why Governors are a little better than a congressman).
