A $1,000,000 town house carries a monthly mortgage payment of around $4,500-$5,000. That is if you have a STELLAR 780+ credit score and somehow get below 5%. Not going to happen on a jumbo loan like this.

A Member of Congress gets paid a good salary $174,000. Minus taxes around $104,000. He has to pay for a house/residence in Atlanta and other expenses and pay $60,000 a year for a mortgage.

How on earth does anyone expect him to pay the taxes as well and still maintain his dainty 250# figure?

He didn’t buy the house for $1M, or likely anywhere near that. Likely bought it years ago when the city was a shithole. There was a time where even houses around Lincoln Park were vacant/dumps.
