Obama does have a conundrum, a pardon or possibly having long drawn out investigations that Clinton cronies involve him.
Obummer has to wait and time it to take as much press focus off of Trump as possible. Steal some the press on Trumps day by pardoning a criminal who will attend the inauguration. CNN probably has already been told.

And therein lies the problem “ nothing to see here move on” can’t afford to be pardoned for “ doing what wasn’t done” or the whole narrative falls apart and once again Dem supporters are left saying What The ( fill in your favorite ) just happened....

Would it be possible for Obama to grant Hillary a pardon, but keep it secret? Then she gets no negative publicity for accepting a pardon, but has an ace in the hole in case she does get to be in danger of indictment under the new administration.

The authority to pardon by a president is in the Constitution.
There is a serious downside to this. If she were pardoned, her 5th Amendment rights concerning the “crimes” would evaporate. She could be questioned with complete immunity for the crimes, but not any procedural crimes that she may commit by her lies.

If he writes the pardon, he has to suggest what the crimes were and that really tangles Hillary up on public perception.
Personally, I don’t see him doing it. If you write this pardon....it has to go and say the various possible crimes, and you can only cover X number. The Trump squad could easily find a dozen more crimes and bring charges on those. So I think Obama will grasp that problem and just walk away.
