#7. Your comment means that if they attacked this man because he was gay, or even perceived to be gay, then they qualify for an added “hate crime” charge, which means more jail time if convicted (in theory).
Sometimes a liberal mistake (i.e. hate crimes as a separate charge) turns around an bites the Left in the nuts. (Yeah, I know that this concept was possibly passed by one of the Bush presidents, but the Left pushed it on them).
