How is Ol’ Hasan doin’ these daze?
Well, Ol’ Bill is 72, and the lovely Bernardine is 75. They will soon enough have to answer for their deeds, together Oscar López Rivera, who is of the same vintage and responsible for similar crimes against society.
I can’t think of anything worse than entering into old age with so much evil to account for while at the same time being philosophically opposed to admitting any guilt and denying that God exists. Bill, Bernardine, and Oscar have little in which to take comfort in the few remaining years they have.
If Bill smirks in thinking about what he has gotten away with (or dances on an airplane), his smirking - and he smirks annoying well! - is the equivalent of whistling past the graveyard. He is living in a fool’s paradise. I would not want to walk in his shoes for anything, even though he, as a small “c” communist, has more in the bank and equity markets than 99.9 % of citizens of Cuba, whose good fortune to be in Cuba he lauds. Nor would I want, as he, to lay awake at night contemplating the depth of my hypocrisy. Nor would I, as he has to, want to sit at the dinner table in the evening with Bernardine making small talk and reminiscing about the past. Uggh.
I simply pity the poor fool. What is more, he will be forgotten.
Puerto Rican terrorist...should be put up against the wall and shot. Period.

Yeah the young are easily misled, but so are the elderly and so are the very rich, just like the very poor. It don’t matter.
