The Girl Scouts of America, the popular, over 100-year-old youth organization, defended their participation in the inauguration ceremonies for President-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday in the wake of some criticism for their involvement. It was revealed this week that the Girl Scouts would march in an inaugural parade on Friday. The Boy Scouts of America, as well as several military and veterans' organizations, will also be participating, but the presence of the Girl Scouts has stoked controversy in light of Trump's well-documented history of making sexist statements about women, as well as numerous allegations of sexual harassment and assault that have been made against him. Trump has vehemently denied the claims against him.

The bullies who are forcing entertainers to withdraw, and the GS to defend their participation obviously need some history and civics lessons. Girl Scouts have been participating in Inaugural events for longer than I can remember.
My then-GS daughter agreed to volunteer for the ‘97 Inaugural (before the election) with my encouragement despite my volunteering and financially supporting Bob Dole in the election. She actually asked how I would feel with her volunteering if Clinton won (as he did). I emphasized to her then that the Inauguration isn’t about the person being sworn in, but about our nation’s history of holding a peaceful transition of power. That tradition may end in ‘17 thanks to the American left.
This just in: The Obama Administration, to show its allegiance with the true patriots protesting Trumps illegitimate swearing in as the 45th president of the United States, ordered the Office of Personnel Management to close all Federal Offices on Jan 20, 2017.

I was resisting this feeling for a long time, but this is pretty much a last straw: I’m really going to enjoy participating in the inevitable shooting war.
Is it too much to hope that the winning can extend to making that once-noble organization upstanding again?

I can’t stand the Girl Scouts because of their leftist politics but they have every right to participate in Inaguration Day without owing the MSM an explanation.
That being said, my daughters will never be part of this garbage organization.
I’m with you 100% on that. I thought the scouts was a great thing as a kid and as I progressed in life. (I just realized the other night I can still recite the scout oath at least up to “...obey the Scout Law...”)
It taught self reliance and an adherence to moral principles, something that is no longer supported by them.
Their stance on homosexuality is abhorrent, and I no longer support the Boy Scouts in any way.
