“You’re welcome to take a run at convincing me and the rest of this forum (that one cannot say the same for Conservative Orthodoxy), in addition to your 11-year old.”

You think the forum needs to be convinced that it is a lie to say that conservatism is another failed ideology and political movement? You think they believe that on the 20th of January, the dustbin of history will slam shut on American conservatism, that conservatives will kick and scream, wail and whine as they shuffle off into forced retirement and irrelevance, that conservatives have displayed an astounding and disturbing reaction upon losing an election, that conservatives have displayed a post-election unwillingness to accept the loss, that conservative reactions are based on anger, resentment, hatred, intolerance, and pique rather than logic, that conservatives accept at face value every political “dirty trick” that seems obviously a sham, that conservatives make bitter attacks built upon false accusations, that conservatives show an overwhelmingly standardized nature of talking points and commonly invoked yet faulty arguments, which suggests a uniformity of thought more typical of an ideological movement or cult than of reasoned, cogent advocacy for a political candidate within a democratic open society?

Or did you mean that conservatives attack the messenger and ignore truth revealed, or that the reaction of conservatives is extreme, excessive, intolerant, and often cruel because this election is about the collapse of an ideology at least 50 years in the making, or that conservatives speak a political and ideological language that is singular, slanted, biased, rigid, self-deceiving, and pervasive?

Perhaps you meant that the conservative viewpoint is self-congratulatory and insular, and that the conservative world is one of self-delusion, false narratives, and fantasies, that conservatism is a failed political ideology which must fall.

What I explained to my child was that it means nothing that a person is physically and emotionally capable of uttering a proposition. All that tells us is that people often get things wrong, and often lie. When someone says, “Well, I could say the same thing,” the facts must be examined to see if this statement is true. I called it an argument earlier, but I misspoke. It is never more than the opening salvo in a quarrel.

My comment refers to Conservative Orthodoxy as espoused by Ted Cruz (the conservative shamer extraordinaire), McCain, Ryan, NRO RedState etc.

Open borders and the free movement of trade product and labor.

Endless interventions in the world when we have no core interests at stake.

Those two alone make Conservative Orthodoxy stand out as a dirty whore unworthy of further advocacy.
