If you don’t grasp the need for the Electoral Vote, the popular vote ploy is more powerful. It’s a simple concept though.
California just had 4 million more votes for Clinton than Trump. That accounted for not only Clinton’s full numbers she beat Trump by in the popular vote, but she had 1 million votes left over.
If the roles were reversed, I doubt the Left would want one state to be able to force the nation to accept a candidate from the right, against the other 49 states.
The Electoral College worked out just the way it should have.
49 states made the choice, and California had to accept it, as it should.
Exactly.
If not for the Electoral Vote, candidates would campaign in only four or five states.....
First, it has been reversed. Each time the United States goes through a Presidential election, cries rise up to change or do away with the Electoral College. This movement fizzles out the further we get from the Presidential election. The Electoral College has had the most legislation submitted to Congress in order to change it. These bills always fail. I give no credence to their cries because in the end it would take a Constitutional Amendment to change the current structure and two-thirds majority of states would never ratify it. California has a better chance to secede from the Republic than to ratify an amendment on the Electoral College.
When people here in MA tell me their vote doesn’t count I tell them, don’t feel bad, you could live in CA.
Take out all votes, all, from Cook County, IL and Los Angeles County, CA, and Donald Trump wins the popular vote.
The democrats are declaring that of more than 3000 counties in the USA, just two counties with large numbers of illegals decide who is to be President of the USA.
No Clinton received a majority of the popular vote.
