Civil rights groups are concerned that the police will violate their rights during the Inauguration protests so they intend to record their behavior. Meanwhile, the ACLU is demanding that the police turn off their body worn cameras during the events.
D.C. Police say their policy is to only record when there is a police activity and they do not consider monitoring protests an activity.
These people are lunatics.

Hope their are some conservative Trump supporters close enough to record the protesters.
Congress should pass constitutional amend to strip D.C. Of electorial votes & require they conform to federal law. Also, all federal workers, except military should be prohibited from voting in federal elections.
So they only monitor Police activity. Then why is the Officer assigned to the protest? Sounds like Police activity to me. He is there to maintain order. Now if the officer was hanging out in the Breakroom, having a bite to eat, then OK, that is not Police activity. This is totally word smith insanity and devoid of logic. We all know why they want them Off. So that when all hell breaks lose there is only one video record of the event and it is not from the evil Police
There's no way to salvage this mess.
And, in four years, after Trump has benefited our economy and nation, the above named wastes-of-oxygen will again appeal to the snowflake generation, malcontents, and liberals to put someone along the lines of an O'Dummy or Klinton in the white shack.
With all the potential terrorist activity, there should be as many cameras as possible recording everything.
The libs intended the body cameras to prove the rampant police brutality, when in reality - it more often shows the perpetrator started the confrontation. Which is why they want them off.

ACLU is DEMANDING? Who the hell do they think they are to be giving orders to law enforcement?
I’ll be so glad to see Friday come and go so the sane adults will be in charge.
That means bad stuff is planned.
Police should keep the CAMS ON for protection of citizens and themselves. The cams are arguably the first defense, with firepower being the backup, if bad people aren’t deterred by daylight / exposure.

How else can they provoke cops into reacting and then edit the videos for whatever effect makes the cops look worst, if there are other more accurate videos out there recording the same confrontations?

Anyone care to guess how many cameras will be aimed at the crowds at the Inaguration, not counting cell phones?
I’ll bet it’ll be thousands. Didn’t we read about a camera that can snap a picture of tens or thousands and make out each face (that’s looking at the camera)?

Will they demand the right to edit LEO body cam records before they can be used to document encounters with blacks?
I would't doubt it.
