I understand that there are elements in Obama’s books that are made up, yet presented as fact, but the MSM had no problem with that. As for MC’s alleged plagiarism, it seemed to me - from the examples I saw - more like sloppy footnoting. She would quote a fact, with a few words changed, and not disclose the secondary source.

Rather ironic that this story is posted on Martin Luther Plagiarist Day, ehh ?

(this never was, nor ever shall be, a 'holiday' at this household)

You're correct, Dadfly....it IS too bad.

However, the evidence must be irrefutable, else she would have fought back...and Mr. Trump and/or some of his surrogates would have immediately come to her defense. But the silence was tellingly deafening.

I wish Crowley well in any future endeavors...she is one of us, and I believe she still has a lot more to contribute to conservatism if this revelation doesn't permanently haunt her speaking and writing career.

The D.C. UniParty plucks a low-hanging fruit.

No mercy towards the D.C. Uni-Party.

Too bad, but best over all - if she was a Dem, she’d be shooed in and defended with attacks on the accusers.

If we were to sit down and read every Doctoral Thesis ever written, how many do you think were plagiarized?

30%? 50%? 80%?

I’d imagine that most topics would result in a large percentage. The type data she was using makes it close to 100% certain there would be a number of direct quotes of others who plagiarized direct quotes of others who.....

Maybe this is why Obama had his records and anything he ever wrote sealed. Although, as President of the Harvard Law Review you would think he would of wrote something.

this is not the first time with Monica,

It's at least the third time. Very strange as she seems like a very smart, talented person with original thoughts who might have learned from her earlier experience being accused of this.

Writers who are under pressure to produce must sometimes find it difficult to avoid having any of the wording from their research or background reading make its way into the final product. Because there are sometimes only so many ways to express something and they also have to ensure that any notes they have taken not result in a direct transfer of material. In Crowley's case though the examples I have read from her book are pretty far over the line and there are passages that are clearly a minimal rewording of a single source, without attribution.

But suppose someone had digested a source sufficiently that they copied the ideas of another author and none of their words. Maybe that kind of thing is harder to catch.

i hope so leni. again though, imo, she had better either come clean (admit to her wrong doing and ask forgiveness) or stand up for herself. the shifty middle ground can’t hold and is no place for a true conservative.

I can’t tell you(actually I can) how much I want at least some of Obama’s hidden records and docs to be exposed to the public after he leaves office and loses some of his protections. Of course, how many docs are even left to find?

Yes; Biden is a plagiarist. So was Teddy Kennedy, IIRC. Lack of ethics is a resume enhancer for Democrats.

Monica Crowley was told to step down or be forced out.

A life-long serial plagiarist Trump NEVER should have hired in the first place.

Good riddance.

Yup.

That doesn’t justify it on our side because we have higher standards.

If we gave Crowley a pass, we’re hypocrites.

IIRC, the Boston journolista who is frequently on MSNBC also was caught plagiarizing - just can’t recall his name...

Mike Barnicle....I remembered before posting!.

BTW, whatever happened to Tantaros?

She dropped out of sight when she decided to sue Fox for sexual harassment.

It's a separate case from the others.

Likely she will end up on NBC-CBS-ABC flaunting feminist warrior cred.

As long as she keeps her right wing political views in check.
