The MLK FBI Files were sealed, and are supposed to be sealed until 2027, however, due to known FBI policies,> many of its records may be destroyed before then. My point being, we will never know what really happened.

Source.. Not anymore. My grandfather was a photographer for a NY paper and was close to things in the WH and the FBI but he is gone.
