Coretta Scott King said that the civil rights leader was faithful even though the FBI sent her tapes of him having sex with other women.
Mrs King said without a confession from her husband she had a gut feeling that their marriage was secure.
Mrs King said she believed her husband was no saint - but his but his faults were things like stepping out of his pajamas and leaving them on the floor.

“The outlandish, platinum-selling, bisexual, 23-year-old pop singer was the highest-wattage celebrity to attend both the Human Rights Campaign dinner Saturday night and the National Equality March on Sunday. “
Nothing in this article indicates her promotion of anything. This reports that she perfomed musically at the events, and somebody wrote this sensationally titled article.
“Of course MLK was a cheater and a womanizer. There is no doubt. But King was committed to non-violence at a time when blacks could easily have been lead in a violent direction. This country is better for his time with us.”
Watching these blood dancers tell me all about MLK having women, J Edgar was taking it in the butthole. JFK, Ike and LBJ, and John Foster Dulles were legendary for affairs. But it only seems to matter when they want to tear down King.
If someone hates King, fine. But they should understand, he would have never happened, had black men coming back from WWII been able to ride a bus or train as they pleased, or sit down at a counter in a café.
Oh come on. Are you serious? Or have you just discovered Gaga in the last year or two?
Lady Gaga is an indisputable Leftist who supported HRC. You are known by the company you keep. This is the Free Republic site?
Agreed, defending the honor and delicacy of Gaga is a stretch.
I wonder what she thought Gaga’s “little monsters” were, or if she even knew who Gaga was during that part of her career.
You two are seeing things right. MLK was a flawed man who did some great things.
MLK bashing (by others) on MLK Day is much like how some of the far left behave on Washington’s birthday. While the majority of the country celebrates Washington’s great accomplishments, some lefties ignore all that. Instead, they concentrate on the fact that Washington owned slaves.
What great things did he do that warrants abolition of observance of Washingtons birthday and Lincolns birthday?
This is not “hate” “bashing” or anything other than a question.
You're mixing issues here. As others here have pointed out, MLK chose a nonviolent path to fight a huge injustice. That was a very noble thing to do, and it turned out to be a great service to the country.
Now, does that warrant giving him his own day? It's not a slam-dunk for me. I would have been OK with it either way. But if I were forced to vote, I'd vote yes.
The second issue, the abolition of observance of Washingtons birthday and Lincolns birthday. Easy call there, for me anyway. That was wrong.
She did a whole song on the subject.
Is “social justice” non-violent? I think it indirect violence, treating people as a group rather than as an individual.
An issue with King is that a mythos has been erected which exceeds the man. He may have rallied people against racists - which is worthwhile - but that’s about it. For this we have parades, ceremonies, and push aside a Founder.
I don’t know what to believe in this case. LBJ didn’t like MLK? Was the FBI LBJ’s tool to discredit MLK? What’s old is new. Looking backward from what we see today it sounds highly plausible. LBJ was a real piece of work. The original south Texas democrat vote fraudster and bully. We know he was dallying around with all kinds of women and his language made Donald Trump sound like a saint. It wasn’t acknowledged at the time but came out in recent years via tapes. Yet, not surprisingly and typically hypocritically, the left still found ways to praise LBJ. (Doris Kearns Goodwin).
And Liberal Brainwashing made people think that Vietnam was Nixon’s War instead of LBJ’s.
His sins with sex is between him and Jesus.
Bingo! Just like JFK. I believe he loved his country and I also believe he was not today's liberal democrat. He did some good things, stood up to the Russians. That said...if stories of MLK and women are true, wouldn't be much different than JFK.
We are all sinners in need of the grace of God through the shed blood of the Lamb, Jesus the Messiah.
I say, let the guys accomplishments be known and not focus on the salacious.
Should we do the same for Bill Clinton, or Ted Kennedy?
And HITLER never killed any Jews! /s
But King was committed to non-violence at a time when blacks could easily have been lead in a violent direction.
“Born This Way”
Which by the way I really like. It fits kids born in any way different. Gd makes no mistakes.
