Unparalleled Resistance Looms for Trump After Inauguration
Wall Street Journal. ^ | 1/16/`7 | Janet Hook

Posted on 01/16/2017 4:05:03 AM PST by DoodleDawg

Remember, back in the day, when newly elected presidents enjoyed a honeymoon? Donald Trump isn’t getting one. His adversaries are in combat mode, as if the campaign never ended. Demonstrations are planned. Money is pouring into the coffers of liberal groups. Activists are calling for an ongoing “resistance” movement. Mr. Trump is getting a taste of his own medicine because he, too, is behaving as if the campaign never ended. For weeks, he has continued to lob provocative tweets about his critics and the media, derided people who supported Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, reveled in his election victory and took a victory lap of “thank you” rallies across the country in December. Now, when he takes office Jan. 20, Mr. Trump will be facing some of the most virulent opposition ever to confront a new president. His approval ratings, while on the rise, are still the lowest of any president-elect in recent polling history. President Barack Obama in 2009 faced resistance from the fledgling tea-party movement, but polls suggested that many opponents were cutting him slack as he was inaugurated: 67% viewed Mr. Obama positively in December 2008, compared to 41% who viewed Mr. Trump favorably in December 2016, according to Wall Street Journal/NBC News polls.

"Polls told us that Trump was going to lose Michigan,
Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, and that Ohio was a tight race."

An example of FAKE NEWS.

"The Democrats are going to screw around and completely destroy their party!"

And I hope they take the UniParty "Republicans" with them!

The left is going to yell, scream, throw things, make noise, break things, attack people physically, justify lawbreaking, encourage street thugs to burn, break and steal. The media will create a constant disturbance designed to destroy Trump’s presidency.

That's why I believe the new "targets of opportunity" when these "events" receive opposition will be the press....

I liken the democratic party to a drowning man....he will grab the business end of a sword in an attempt to save himself.

I say KEEP IT UP. Show yourselves for the hopeless jackasses you are. I cannot wipe the smile of victory from my face. Every day since the election is like Christmas morning! GO TRUMP!

“unparalleled resistance”...is that going to be like the unparalleled win Hillary was supposed to have that did not materialize?

I am not the Chicken Little type but with unprecedented
amounts of left wing hyperbole out there I actually fear
for the life of the new president. If harm did come I
would predict a national wound that would rival that
of the War Between the States. And, it would be made
worse by many classless Trump haters who would openly
celebrate.

The “Dissenters” have completely lost it.No longer can they have their own way, like spoiled brats, they scream and wail in a supermarket aisle way. They definitely need a good ass whipping and hopefully that is about to happen to all of them. Certainly it will take some time to "train" them to be civil, something they have never had to do.

Janet Hook is obviously a leftist. Trump’s thank you tours were not victory tours. They were thank you tours. The left is incapable of attributing any good motives to conservatives ever — because they project their own diabolical selves onto those they h ate. By the way, is Janet Hook related to Janet Cook?

Everytime Trump tweets 2,000 unemployed Americans get a job.

The MSM, DNC (but I'm repeating myself) and the GOPe all say in unison, "WE CAN'T HAVE THAT!".

Trump is irritating almost all in the atherosclerotic establishment, and I like it.

Oh, yeah.

I saw that too.

Told them then at least 15% GOP win.

Amarillo voted 88.45% for Donald Trump!

Or friends to the North in OK “really” did it again. Amazing.

Money is pouring into the coffers of liberal groups

The demoncrats may very well destroy the party but a few are ahead of the curve filling their retirement coffers now while emotions are hot.

I live in Mike Pence's temporary neighborhood in Chevy Chase D.C. The place is defiled with rainbow flags, loser Hillary Kaine and H->America signs, I trust women, planned parenthood, and Trump is a tool signs. Should take a couple hundred thousand off of home-prices to know how the pornographer-liberals are willing to trash up the place.

Professionals - like Hell!
