Sad he had to hide his very American ancestry. I guess back in the 1950s people actually felt as racist about ancestry as the media thinks we feel now. What race your ancestors might have been should be a benign parlor chat. A history / geography lesson. It shouldn’t be a shameful thing or make you “cooler” either. I long for when we don’t care about skin color, just character.
I don’t believe this, and there is no definitive information or proof, in spite of anything found on the internet.
As for what Eisenhower looked like as a young man, he is a dead ringer for my 100% Swedish dad in this picture.

Eisenhower looked about as non African American as one can look.
