I stood in Grant Park on election night 2008, along with more than 200,000 other people, and watched as a man I’d known as a fellow member of a Chicago church, a man I’d worked to help get elected, took to the stage. He would be the first black president of the United States of America. My joy at the surreal scene was transcendent. The jumbotron flashed the face of the civil rights stalwart the Rev. Jesse L. Jackson, with tears streaming down his cheeks, an image that evoked the profound elation of black America at the election of Barack Obama.

Give me a break. I never heard of one legitimate assassination plot against Obama. There was already someone who tried to get Trump during the primary season. He mentions Malcomm X. He was murdered by another Muslim African-American. Vernon Jordan was the target of a serial killer who tried to whack Larry Flint. He cites Jesse Jackson getting death threats when he ran for President. Which major candidate has not received death threats?

Three Members Of Trinity United Church Murdered between Nov. and Dec. 2007.

A man who worked as a choir conductor and school teacher was found Dec 2007 shot to death. The victim is 47-year-old Donald Young. Young’s death has been ruled a homicide.

Donald Young, a 47-year-old choir master at former Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s Trinity United Church of Christ—the same congregation that Obama has attended for the past 20 years. Two other young black men that attended the same church—Larry Bland and Nate Spencer—were also murdered execution style with bullets to the backs of their heads—all within 40 days of each other, beginning in November 2007.

I stayed up to watch as well...and I’m (honestly) still thrilled by it. That crook and her agenda (a continuation of Obama’s scheme to disenfranchise working whites) had to be defeated; now the remaining Dem politicians are pretending it is still afloat but they’ll be watching from the sidelines...as we were when ObamaCare passed without a single Republican vote.
