The simmering cold, if heating up with every passing day, war between Trump and the press may be about to turn conventional, with the occasional chance of an ICBM.
Just days after calling out CNN fake news during his first press conference of 2017, Esquire reports that according to three senior officials on the transition team, the incoming Trump administration is "seriously considering" a plan to evict the press corps from the White House.
If the plan goes through, one of the officials said, the media will be removed from the cozy confines of the White House press room, where it has worked for several decades. Members of the press will be relocated to the White House Conference Center—near Lafayette Square—or to a space in the Old Executive Office Building, next door to the White House.
Trump's press secretary tried to cast the possible relocation of the press corps as a matter, in part, of logistics. "There's been so much interest in covering a President Donald Trump," he said. "A question is: Is a room that has forty-nine seats adequate? When we had that press conference the other day, we had thousands of requests, and we capped it at four hundred. Is there an opportunity to potentially allow more members of the media to be part of this? That's something we're discussing."
He added that "There has been no decision," yet but acknowledged that "there has been some discussion about how to do it."
Other Trump staffers, however, explain that it's not business, it's personal. "They are the opposition party," a senior official was quoted by Esquire. "I want 'em out of the building. We are taking back the press room."

The media has expanded 100 fold in the last 20 years.
Why just 49 seats for special snowflakes?
Why limit access to 49 reporters to filter the news ?

Oh didn’t you hear? President Trump is “a master manipulator”. Hope he makes them pay for their own charter jets to cover him too, whenever he leaves town. After all they are writing articles about dispensing with the time honored practices of their craft. Namely objectivity and honesty. They made their bed now they LIE in it.
Aren’t there areas in DC that are Real HIGH CRIME?? Does the Government OWN any Buildings in these HIGH CRIME areas?? if so That is were the Press Corp should be relocated to, President Trump can Video Conference with the presstitutes in their new location.
There already is a poisonous viper in the White House - Obama. On a note, The White House is supposedly to undergo extensive updates, and the Press room would become inaccessible during the upgrades. Obama delayed the updates, and remodeling for some time already
The press and meida can have all the freedom of speech they desire. They can shout out from the bowels of the NYC “Bowery” while they clean dirty car windshields for 25 cents a wipe!!! They will love it there...as they will be soon joined by Bill & Hilllary Clinton & Barack Hussein Obama....and hs windshield cleaning partner, Bowe Bergdahl!!! I wish them all...well!!!
If the press expects to behave like children, they shouldn’t be surprised when they are treated like children.
They need to hear “lible - lible - libel” right back and be prosecuted and jailed when they are CAUGHT in a lie. I would think a better move than the one being offered is to disallow them for a 30-60 day period depending upon the egregiousness of the libel.
They still have freedom of speech. They can still print any lies they want. They just can’t occupy the White House any more. I hope he does kick them out. Being dishonest should have consequences.

Fantastic idea. Neuter the “elite press” and open this up to today’s media, which is more than the few that get cherished taxpayer-funded space in the White House.

When the first White House was built, it was an ‘Andy Gump’ and then after the fire and the present White House was built, they installed bathrooms inside...
I remember reading it was used for the ‘ground keepers’ to store their equipment in, and then when ‘the one that wears a dress’ was doing her garden, she used it for her ‘tools’...
I'm quit sure it would be big enough to house the ‘media’ in, and any updating of course would have to go through the ‘parks department’ on budget, carpeting, windows, etc. etc. and knowing how little the ‘parks department’ receives, I don't think One Dollar would do many improvements...they would have to foot the bill themselves...
Being on the Grounds of the White House, the ‘parks department’ would have final say over how many are allowed at one time in the shed, and what they could or couldn't do such as dig up the ground to lay electricity, Wi-Fi, water, cable, that sort of thing...they would probably have to go off White House grounds to use the bathrooms...
Why can’t Trump’s spokesman take questions submitted by Americans (include the press in that group) and answer on camera without the press in the room? I would prefer to hear directly from the administration than the garbled, twisted opinions of the liberal press.
Move ‘em out and shut off the heat and AC in the new place.
