Former Attorney General Michael Mukasey said Saturday that “it might not be a bad idea” if FBI Director James Comey resigned amid an investigation by the Justice Department’s inspector general of his handling of the Hillary Clinton email probe.
“The public has to have confidence in the chief law-enforcement officer — and I don’t know that we can await the outcome of all of these investigations until we find out whether we can have that confidence,” Mukasey, 75, who served under former President George W. Bush, told Uma Pemmaraju on Fox News.
“He has been compromised that much,” he added. “It is his own, not that he has been compromised by his own people.” …

There was no "catch". Comey specifically told Congress in public hearings that if any new evidence is found, he will re-open the investigation. The FBI found the joint Huma/Weiner e-mails and were obligate to re-open the case.
That said, I find Comey guilty of parsing the initial findings from "gross negligence" to "extremely careless". Worse, is that he said Hillary had no "intent", which is not stipulated in the statute.
What info did the FBI give out last Sunday nite?? I never heard details, only Judge Napolitano said it was explosive! Anyone know the details?

Before exonerating her the second time, Comey completely stopped Her Heinous's momentum which I believe was crucial to Trump winning because those on the fence took a second look at him.
I think the prosecutor is sitting there with a limited number of charges, but he’s got this Hillary stash of emails to contend with. Does the FBI want to use the copy of emails for federal charges? How did Weiner come to acquire the emails? Do you want Weiner to cooperate on a bigger case?
In a hundred years, you will never have this type of case ever repeat. Amateur playboy New York Jewish guy....married to Arabic Muslim American gal who is one step behind Hillary...and in the midst of a mysterious loss of Hillary’s email stash...here the playboy gets caught sex-chating with some teenage gal and cops review his laptop to find all these Hillary emails. It’s a five-star script for some movie.

The catch was the emails that were later discovered proved that Clinton was constantly sending Sid Vicious CLASSIFIED and TOP SECRET information...
I’m wondering if this last-minute smear against Comey is because he’s actually holding some valuable cards against the left. Cards that he could not play out under Obama. They know this and maybe want to run him off before he plays them.
He’s a hard read. Wishy-washy. Like maybe he wanted to do things but was threatened or “encouraged” not to.
Absolutely, since he feared tat Weiner could have made additional copies or other 3rd party entities could have gained access to it and then at the last minute leaked this to the public...
The intense effort by Democrats and Bush cronies to oust Comey makes me think they fear what he might do to save himself in the new administration. (Unless it’s all a head fake). Major cooperation with the new AG to expose the Clinton cartel within the DoJ and FBI, etc., would justify keeping him for a while, on a short leash. If he doesn’t cooperate, fire him.
Comey defiantly needs to go asap.
