Drug testing floated for White House press corps

One proposal on dealing with the media that was pitched to President-elect Donald Trump’s transition team calls for drug testing the White House press corps.

Trump’s attacks on the mainstream media were a cornerstone of his campaign and last week he called BuzzFeed a “failing pile of garbage,” but forcing reporters to undergo random drug tests would provoke a media meltdown.

The pee-in-a-cup proposal (yellow journalism indeed) was one of 13 ideas one candidate for White House press secretary wrote in November in a confidential memo to members of the Presidential Transition Team’s Executive Committee.

Who ever made this fantastic suggestion deserves a dozen roses everyday for the next 4 years.

OMG!!! L0L!

Haven’t lived in the States for a while, but from what I understand the testing is procedure for most jobs.

What not surefor those with very close access to the president?

LOL! Indeed.

It reminds me of Jesus when he flipped over the tables of the money lenders.

Not saying Trump is Jesus, but he is shaking things up. As
did our Savior, on much more massive, spiritual scale.

Trump is an Earthly being, called to help the greatest country on Earth.

Jesus Christ is ... the Son of God, sent to save the world! There will never be another being on this Earth as important as Jesus Christ.

Just wanted to make that clear.

“Does psychiatric meds count, though?”

Anything that would disqualify you from operating a vehicle, owning a gun, having a security clearance, or failing a field sobriety test would be a good start.

Clear out the Press Room pretty damn quick.

Reporters lie. Just watch the news. Their oaths are worth nothing.

DoD Federal Employees have random drug tests.
Private companies have random drug tests
Armed Forces have random drug tests.

Why not the White House Press Corps? Why would they be exempt from something so many Americans are forced to accept as day to day life? Doing drugs is illegal, for you, for me, and for them too.

They are not employees.

It’s a red meat idea that is not enforceable.

Uhmmmmm Press passes are not a constitutional issue. Press pass has to pass a piss test. Simple. Make it weekly. 1/2 of them would drop out. You seem to have an issue with this.
