Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.) responded to an attack from President-elect Donald Trump on Saturday by urging Democrats in a fundraising email to stand up to Trump.

“Today Donald Trump attacked me on Twitter. He said that I’m ‘all talk’ and ‘no action,’” Lewis wrote in the letter from the Democratic National Committee (DNC).

“I’ve been beaten, bloody, tear-gassed, fighting for what’s right for America. I’ve marched at Selma with Dr. King. Sometimes that’s what it takes to move our country in the right direction," the letter continued.

How about fixing the crime problem in your district, Lewis? You’re not doing YOUR job so don’t criticize others. Glass houses and all that.

Lewis and Cummings proving once again how far removed they are from the concepts of Dr. Martin Luther King, and once again proving their irrelevance.

These two and many others have carried Martin Luther King's dream in the opposite direction. Their cities and districts continue to produce crime, fatherless families, unemployment, and the blame game for more government programs to line their own pockets.

Why are they not helping the pastors, young black families with a mother and father raising their children? Why do they fail to support judging people by the content of their character instead of by the color of their skin? Why do they not teach citizenship in the community, in the country, and in the world?

They are disgraceful losers.

And guess what? When Ben Carson and Trump return hope (jobs, training, and God) to their cities and districts, they will be the first to take credit!

If John Lewis had lived up to Dr. king’s dream, he would have worked to maintain the black family by keeping black men in the home and getting blacks off welfare. Where are his initiatives for getting rid of ghettos, teaching respect for all in the community, not just BLM, or changing welfare laws to encourage keeping families together? Instead, I think Lewis was chosen and allowed himself to be a front man for initiating a battle with Trump and throwing in the race card as well. In my opinion the team of Trump and Carson will accomplish more for the black family than Lewis has in his many years.

Because you protested decades ago does not give you a pass to say the most outrageous slanderous partisan comments. You’re not our hero.

Trump answered this self righteous dem on policy. It’s pretty pathetic that he responded by blowing his own horn.

Also, notice how he doesn’t defend his record as a congressman or what his district looks like after he’s been there leader for years?

OH NOES THE DEMS ARE UPSET.
please spare us this strategy that others have begged Trump to adopt for 18 months.
Backing down from them over NOTHING but responding to an attack will do nothing but make them attack even more.

I have a feeling Lewis will regret his stupidity. I sure hope so.

I can’t seem to find where Rep Lewis has ever done anything other than politics, community organizing and marches. He’s been a rep, for THIRTY years.

I was trying to see what business experience/background he may have, but I cannot find any.

I am so sick and tired of career politicians.

"Every person who currently gives a damm about these frauds already gives a damn. They will not bring any knew followers on board. They have peaked."

YES!! You're correct! This is just the echo chamber getting their panties in a twist. The metrosexual bubble thinks most Americans are outraged over nonsense like this when in reality they're either not aware of it, or cheering on Trump. Sacred cows need to go..especially the left wing globalist ones based on speech codes, and name calling, virtual signalling. The modern day Stalinists stay offended and outraged, but it's all so shallow...no substance. If it involved leaving their campus or their keyboards they wouldn't know what to do.

I would love Trump to tweet out something like that..lol
“You’re not going to win elections acting outraged over nonsense. Your party has peaked, and lost it’s way.”
or
“The democrated party has been decimated across the country..a 1000 seats lost in 8 years, and you still don’t get it.”

He just wants it his way, just like every other fool idiot democrat out there. He gets to trash-talk Trump but when Trump turns the tables on him out he can’t take it. Reminds me of McCain and that Lindsey dude. (I gotta tell you—every time I remember Trump’s rally where he gave out Lindsey Graham’s cell phone number, I just crack up.)

They have a real problem with anyone under 60; people who’ve grown up in integrated schools with affirmative action as the law of the land see these civil rights has-beens as abject failures (if they know anything about them at all).

Looking around today, can you see any concrete accomplishment of those marchers? I only see the erosion of meritocracy and the complete surrender of most blacks in terms of assimilation. There is no reason to believe that even 500 years from now, they will ever “fit” - and racism by non-blacks will still be touted as the reason.

Lewis needs to quit thinking about his glory days 50 years ago. Get real and look at today, 2017. How much have you done for your district? Zero
