--SNIP-- Fattah was sentenced to 10 years in prison last month after he was convicted on charges including participating in a racketeering conspiracy, bank fraud, conspiracy to commit wire fraud, bribery, and falsification of records, among other counts. He was found guilty of stealing charitable donations to refund an illegal $1 million loan he used during his 2007 mayoral campaign, using campaign funds to pay off his sons college tuition debt, and stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars in federal funds to pay a political strategist.
Lanny Davis, who served as Clintons lawyer and spokesman during the Monica Lewinsky scandal, co-wrote the letter of request with New Jersey pastor Rev. Dr. Therman Evans, citing Fattahs unmatched contributions to improving the life chances of tens of millions of Americans and recognized irregularities in the process for this case.

.....a racketeering conspiracy and other crimes, including bribery; conspiracy to commit mail, wire and honest services fraud; and multiple counts of mail fraud, falsification of records, bank fraud, making false statements to a financial institution and money laundering....
Some of the same crimes Bonnie and Clyde Clinton could be convicted on.
It’s not the most pressing problem facing the country, but we need a constitutional amendment that would put some sort of check on the president’s power to pardon.
As it is, the president has a king-like power here. Why the founders allowed that unchecked power I don’t know. Presidents are not supposed to act like kings.
I’d be happy enough if the Congress was given the power to cancel a pardon by a 2/3 majority vote in both houses. Sort of like themeans to override a veto. Difficult, but possible.

Okay, name them. All of them.
OMG! You missed your calling - if you're not a comedian already, you should be. THAT is the funniest line I've ever read - I'm still wiping tears from my eyes!
The Kenyan has plenary powers to issue pardons. This sounds like a done deal. The only question is how much The Obama Foundation gets in return.
LOL
I don’t believe the founders thought that the power of a pardon would be used very often and then only in acts of mercy or justice - not campaign donations.
If she consummated their relationship, she would be Fatta Chicka, Chaka Fattah F*kkah.
Wouldn’t be surprised if he pardoned every demoncrat, every illegal and everyone in prison and GITMO.
LOL! How could I forget that? ;)
I think you are thinking about Frizzell Gray, a/k/a Kweisi Mfume, who was from inner city Baltimore, Maryland.
Another stud who had five children by four different women, and they hold this guy up as a moral paragon.
