We are leaving for DC on Tuesday too. Staying at the Trump Hotel. Looking forward to attending the inauguration and some of the balls/parties.

Just curious, don't you need tickets or invitation to attend any of the inaugural balls?

I understand that Trump is having only 3 inaugural balls, whereas odingo had 10 inaugural balls in 2012. Not sure about the number of odingo's inaugural balls in 2008

I think you do need invitations. However there is a ball where you can buy tickets, which should be interesting - for all the deplorables - tickets cost though:

Doesn’t tax payer funding pay a portion of these balls or are they all funded through donations?

I was invited to The All American Ball. You can purchase tickets for that one. Unfortunately, I’m unable to attend.

There are many balls going on, however only a few official Gala’s that Trump will attend. Those you need to be invited to.
