You can’t do too much change all at once or things go haywire. It’s a matter of history. Trump has massive changes going on in many areas. Some of it needs to be gradual and build up to make a sturdy foundation for more.
He’s securing the border which is a good thing. Getting rid of violent criminals is also a good thing. That, in and of itself is a YUGE deal!
There are a lot of people here who aren’t citizens, who were brought here through no fault or choice of their own either in their mother’s wombs, or as infants and children. They don’t know any other way of life but the one they’ve had here. Culturally, they aren’t even true ...........whatever their original heritage was..fill in the blank. Not all illegal immigrants are Mexican. Some aren’t fully American in culture either. They don’t fit either place, and that’s NOT an easy place to be. But THEIR children will be as American as any American. You can’t just boot these people out without regard for their very lives. It’s not even humane to suggest it.
To expect them to work or make their own business is reasonable, the same as any other American.
To require them to get citizenship and pay taxes...yes, absolutely. But if they’re from a country who wishes us harm, and have come in as a silent, invading army..get them out. Send them home along with the wives and children they brought with them. Especially if we are at war with that nation. That’s constitutional.
Build the wall. Worry about the rest later.
It would be more humane to send the kids home with their parents than to break up families.
We don’t allow bank robbers to go free and keep the money because it might adversely affect their children to lock them up and take back the money.
Their situation is the fault of their parents. Taking a child illegally across national boundaries is tantamount to child abuse.
Under current law illegal aliens cannot apply for citizenship. They can only apply for citizenship if they go home and get in line like they should have done in the first place. If they wait until we have to deport them, they are barred from even applying for 10 years.
They should avoid the rush and go now.
We should not change laws to suit those breaking them.
We did that in 1986 and it resulted in 10 times the number of illegal aliens.
You obviously haven’t lived in a border state. Illegal’s children go to our schools not speaking one word of english. Many classes in California are taught in spanish, even if there are english-speaking American children in them. i know this first hand.
Illegal’s kids celebrate their home country’s holidays and identify as being mexican, guatemalan, etc - anything but American.
They don’t learn to be American from their parents. Where do you think they would learn it? Public schools? LOL!
