I get it. For the next 4 years we will be hearing wall to wall coverage of every layoff, just as we didn’t hear it for the past 4 years.

thanks for your explanation.

Not to mention, computers and internet take a huge workload off a company. If you have fewer employees on the floor, you don’t need as many HR people.

People are ordering a lot of merchandise online and having it delivered either to their local store, or to their homes. Computers keep track of inventory, do book keeping, keep logs of addresses, phone numbers, credit/debit card numbers. You just don’t need as many people! The cotton gin did the same thing. The industrial revolution tends to work into the technological revolution and all of them eliminate the need for human beings. Now, Robots are coming out which will further eliminate the need for people services.

On the other hand, doors are opened for human innovation. Can’t find a job? Make one for yourself! Trump is rolling back regulations for that very reason. You don’t have to be an economic ‘gibs me dat” ...ie somebody GIVE me a job...when you are in a position to create jobs..for your self so you can hire others.

Invest in yourself. To heck with buying clothes and accessories, parking spaces and lunches and child care, to work for someone else. Use that money to do something you love, are good at, and can build on. If you’re any good at it, word will get out and your business will grow.

Home cottage industries were squashed right along with other industries. Let’s hope, and if necessary, write to President Trump to get those regulations lifted right along with other regulations.

We are finally in a position to lift ourselves up and as we do, we are lifting up the nation because we ARE the nation!!

BooYa!!

Hmmmmm....I wonder if in the 1000 home office jobs being lost, does that number also include the loses at stores? Yesterday, I ran into a lady I know who has worked in the office [store level] for at least 25-28 yrs. She told me her job was being eliminated the end of this month along with the other office jobs. I asked what she planned to do....she said she would prob take the package they were offering since the only jobs in the store being offered to the office workers was for cashiers or sales associates....with big cuts in pay.
