Cory Booker’s shameless gambit of launching his presidential bid by attacking Jeff Sessions has really gotten under this Insurrectionist’s skin. From my Quick Hit of this morning: “I reckon he earned the scorn of many of his fellow Dems for his transparent ploy.”
And so it was gratifying to get confirmation this morning from Joe Scarborough, who on Morning Joe said this of Booker’s stunt: “obviously calculated . . . in a way that would have the other senators, especially Democratic senators, wanting to drag him away . . . a lot of senators irked, especially on the Democratic side. They thought he was launching his bid for the 2020 campaign.”

Booker was a worse actor than even Meryl Streep.
Stuart Varney and Maria Bartaromo were discussing this topic this morning. Varney said “I don’t think he’s ideally placed to be a future President of the United States.”
and then he said....I’ll leave it at that. Then he and Maria laughed....wonder what it is that they know about the Senator.
They have to run someone against Trump in 2020 and it will be a sacrificial candidate so Booker or Elizabeth Warren depending on who they just want to get out of the way

I think Booker sees himself as the next Obama, but from what I’ve seen he doesn’t have the charisma and Americans are tired of Obama’s talk and no action. He could, I suppose, fire up the black vote but even that ship has already sailed.

If Trump is half as successful as we hope he will be then, yes, the dem candidate in 2020 will be a throw-away bench warmer.
If he struggles a bit or some even minor “scandal” surfaces then they will throw their best shot at him.
But the dem bench is so shallow they might end up sacrificing an up and comer.
But we ARE talking about the democrats so who knows what they’ll try.
