Do you honestly think that any school administration would tell a kid they can’t do a makeup test because their father, the President of the US is giving a major speech.
Educators are arrogant and self righteous, but not that much.
We home schooled our kids, otherwise, I would have looked for excuses to buck their little fiefdoms. It’s in my blood.
(my parents sent me to a catholic elementary school. I was a major troublemaker and didn’t take any garbage from the old penguins, one of whom was sent to jail a few years later for child abuse.)

No, but if I were President, I could see not letting my kid cut school.
A story about Coolidge and one of his boys lifted from another FR thread:
(Coolidge) had a very human side. He was a devoted family man who doted on his wife and deeply loved his two sons. He tried very hard to instill in them the same values he had been raised with, respect for hard work and thrift. While serving as president his younger son Calvin Jr. worked as a field hand at a tobacco plantation in Virginia. When one of the boys friends noted that if his father was President of the United States he would not be cutting tobacco in a field, young Cal replied if your father was my father you would.
