Another shot at Trump.
All I can say is they better watch their wallets around Obama.
That’s gotta hurt, what with Obama being a Sox fan and all.
I doubt it. Didn't Trump name one of the owner's kids to be a Commerce undersecretary?
How much will this cost taxpayers?
The Cubs are mostly owned by the Ricketts family, which is staunchly GOP/pretty conservative, including the gov of Nebraska, Pete Ricketts.
The team may have elected to go to WH now, just to avoid some future anticipated protests, such as those that have discouraged many entertainers from accepting gigs for the inauguration.
I'd wager that Trump could do better.*Much* better.
WHO CARES WHO CARES. I hope Trump opens the White back to visitors again. That’s what I care about.

The same as if they had visited President Trump.
Let’s keep our distaste for obozo to things that are truly his. There are so many we don’t have to invent tickey-tacky ones.
Yep. Who gives a #### about this?
I don’t give a #### if NO teams visit during the WH.
Not even sure why they do.
That’s a shame. Was hoping to see them with a real president. I would guess the players either voted or Madden decided. He seems like a hippy type and probably leans to the left. Love the guy but he’s a free spirit.
Disappointed to see my team tarnish themselves with this decision.
More likely that delaying a visit to the WH would interfere with spring training that will be starting in February.
Zero is from Chicago, so this is not a big surprise. Not everything that happens is political.
The Cubs were one of only three teams who scored more runs than Chicago had murders.
It’s all good- I am a Cub fan too and it does not matter to me who they visit. It was amazing to me that they even won the Series and was a lifetime thrill for me that even Obama cannot erase.
Visiting a low rent president....
“More likely that delaying a visit to the WH would interfere with spring training that will be starting in February.”
Yeah, that could be it, but typically a team will visit during the regular season and the Cubs will have a couple road trips to Washington DC this season to play the Nationals.
