Civil rights attorneys in Maryland argued yesterday that, as a remedy for the state college systems history of racial segregation, some 100 academic programs at predominantly white schools should be axed and moved to historically black institutions (HBCUs).
The state counters that such a redress would have a catastrophic effect on the institutions and harm students of all races.

Agreed, plus I don't think there needs to be a redress of anything anyway.
Can they transfer all the white students with the programs, as well? Or would that be racist?
Move all the “studies” programs to the black schools to make room for programs that prepare a person for a job that pays money because someone actually needs it and is willing pay for it with their own money.
If it’s history then there is nothing to remedy.
That’s it!
The answer to segregation is....more segregation
Brilliant!
What are they going to axe them?
I’m confused. Does the author mean “axe” as in “chopping wood”, or does the author mean “axe” as in “ask”.
The whole ebonics thing has really screwed up the English language and I just never know what people are trying to say any longer.
The SST Challenger experienced that. So did that white "teacher in space", Christa McAuliffe, who was on board.
McAuliffe got her masters at HBCU Bowie State College in MD.
(They named a dorm after her.)
After 8 years of Obama’s racialism I don’t think many whites are going to complain if blacks segregate themselves.
I know, I know ....
How about closing the “black colleges” and have everyone go to the same universities.
Welfare for liberal black severely racist colleges.
Yeah this will fix everything. /s
Yeah but we will object to subsidizing them as this article mentions.
Seriously? Why?
There are hundreds of thousands of alumni of the University of Maryland and other state schools who are good and upright citizens, doing the right thing most every day of their lives.
Better yet, set up new institutions in the inner cities and move there.
The easiest solution is just to name the UMD a “recently historical black college”.
How many years has it been - and how many elections of a black POTUS - since Sandra Day OConnor said that the time was coming when reverse racial discrimination in government would be unconstitutional?
Being that its now 2017, perhaps one way to attract more white students to schools like Morgan State would be for them to stop calling themselves historically black colleges.
Force most college liberal twits to attend black schools. That should do it.
