How could you have missed the flourishing of post-colonial Africa? Oh, wait... :=)
I've traveled the Third World...a number of times.Africa,Asia and South America.I'd be lying if I said I saw a whole lot of "flourishing".However,I did see some hope.Last year we were lucky enough to visit South Africa,specifically to see Kruger National Park.Although it was hundreds of miles from Kruger we chose as our "base" a suburb of Johannesburg called "Sandton".Very nice,very clean,very prosperous.Think upscale Southern California:a Rolls/Bentley/BMW dealership about 100 yards from our hotel.Wikipedia did a writeup on the city calling it "Africa's richest square mile".
Mostly white faces....and it's 20+ years since majority rule.
