Paul: Trump backs health repeal, replacement at same time

WASHINGTON (AP) — A Republican senator who challenged Donald Trump for the White House nomination says the president-elect "fully supports" repealing President Barack Obama's health law only when there's a viable alternative to replace it.

Republican leaders in the GOP-controlled Congress are moving toward a vote on repeal legislation in coming weeks, but they anticipate a transition period of months or years to a replacement. Some Republican lawmakers are expressing reservations about scrapping the law, which now covers 20 million people, without a near-term replacement.

Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, who clashed with Trump during the GOP primary, said in a tweet late Friday that the two had a conversation and that Trump agreed with Paul's approach.

Nothing changes with these cowardly, traitorous Republicans.

They are now talking about a 2-3 year transition away from Obamacare.

As long as they kill the mandate, I’m happy. I have not had health insurance since Obamacare kicked in. I’m 63.

I’ve discovered two things:
1. I now see health insurance as a lack of faith in the power of the great Physician (Christ).
2. When you don’t have health insurance, health care is shockingly cheap.

8 MILLION IMMEDIATELY LOST THEIR COVERAGE WHEN THIS POS WAS IMPLEMENTED

THERE WAS 40 MILLION UN-INSURED BEFORE - THERE IS STILL OVER 30 MILLION UN-INSURED, FOR A COST TO THE COUNTRY OF $400,000 EACH PERSON, AND A RUINED, COSTLY, HIDEOUS SYSTEM IMPOSED ON EVERYONE ELSE.

THERE IS NO CONSEQUENCE OF IMMEDIATE REPEAL THAT IS WORSE THEN LETTING IT CONTINUE ONE DAY LONGER.

My understanding is that even those insured don’t really have insurance until they pay a huge deductible.

Cutting the mandate, as we all know,is really cutting a major tax revenue. I’ll believe it when I see it.

Well that market is going to have to hurry the hell up and come online.

Obamacare devastated a lot of companies that are no longer around to provide a product to buy. Not to mention that you still cant buy insurance over state lines.

It isnt enough to scream that the free market will take care of it if it will take months for companies to appear and be ready, when the state and crooked companies forced people into that train wreck.

It's not official till Trump tweets it. And then only after Kellyanne Conway tells us what he really meant.

I really hope that President Trump does a better job with communicating his message. Tweeting isn't enough and I sometimes wonder if his spokespeople are putting out his message or their own.

A “2-3 year transition” means it will never happen. And that suits Republicans and their show votes just fine.

All they have to do is to repeal the mandate and allow insurance companies to start selling policies that are geared toward customer needs, things like catastrophic insurance, and sell across lines. People will migrate to the free market of their own volition.

Thats great, as long as, if something catastrophic happens to you, you pay for it.

As to your first point, I’ve seen many good Christians racked with horrible medical problems. I saw a guy who died of brain cancer over a 5 year period. It was horrifying. It made me question my views on euthanasia. Faith in Christ doesn’t mean all your medical problems will instantly clear up.

While the rinos are obfuscating as usual, Trump needs to stop the IRS from collecting the mandate money. He should also revoke the congressional exemption.

That’s not photoshopped? Is he really that small?
Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
I just didn’t know.

I do hope this is the plan they go with; Repeal and Replace in the same day. The Dems are hoping we leave a big gap of time between one step and the other, so they can exploit it.

Exactly!

Just to give one example: If I get cancer, either the Lord heals me or he takes me. The only treatment I’ll do is something along the lines of the Gerson plan.

what we had before worked. The simple fact is, we need to expand the tax base by putting more people into decent paying jobs for any plan to work. There are too many people receiving government benefits and not enough people paying into the benefit systems to keep them solvent.

This graph pretty well illustrates the problem:

Trump needs to MAGA and we need to give him whatever he needs to do it. even if it's time. I'm sure he will throw us a bone or two for our continuing patience and support. i.e. supreme court, second amendment, border, dept. of Ed., etc.
