Sorry, Meryl but that hypocritical anti-Trump rant was easily the worst performance of your career
Daily Mail.com ^ | 1/9/17 | Piers Morgan

Just when I thought we’d exhausted the reservoir of Trump-hating luvvies, up pops the biggest star in Hollywood to join the bandwagon and stick one more stiletto-heeled boot into the President-elect ten days before his inauguration.

Not a big fan of Piers Morgan, but you have to give me credit for fairness here.

Full title:

Sorry, Meryl but that hypocritical anti-Trump rant was easily the worst performance of your career (apart from that time you gave a child rapist a standing ovation)

As long as Piers stays away from the subject of guns, he’s not bad at all.

And she looked so sad doing it. Like it was such a burden to have to deal with feeble-minded. Don’t we know they are our betters?

Maybe a dingo ate her original speech?

She has always looked “sad” to me...has a weird smile and whiny voice

Perspective...I am not a Streep fan, so I thought it was the best performance of her career.

Should have read “Not a big fan of Piers Morgan, but you have to give HIM credit for fairness here.”

Sheesh I can’t read anymore!

The Arts Community lost a lot of talented and admired people this year. There are movies that both got recognition and deserved it....for example Manchester By the Sea and La La Land. For Steep and the other maniacs to detract from that with their political views wasn’t just a slap in the face to the integrity of Deplorables. It was an insult to the memory of their peers and a distraction from work that is worthy of praise.

I have to question Piers’ judgment when he calls Streep “intelligent” while castigating her for a speech that showed what a dumbass she is. It is no secret that many (most?) actors are not the sharpest tools in the shed.

From the article:

So yes, the stench of hypocrisy throughout Streep’s speech was putridly pungent.
My overriding disappointment though is that she missed a massive opportunity to do something really constructive.
How much more effective would it have been had the most powerful woman in Hollywood called for unity not division, demanded a stop to all the teeth-gnashing and wailing over the election result, and urged Donald Trump in his inauguration speech to preach tolerance, fairness and equality?
That would have been a truly courageous and admirable thing to do.
Streep could have been courageous and brought the country together Sunday night. Instead she poured oil onto a toxic fire

Streep could have been courageous and brought the country together Sunday night. Instead she poured oil onto a toxic fire
Instead, Meryl Streep poured another 100 gallons of oil onto an already inflamed toxic fire.
She will get exactly what she wanted: today, she’s the toast of Hollywood, the darling of social media and a heroine to every Millennial in the world.
I’ve seen people on my Twitter feed say they actually wept with joy at her words.
But the reality is that she’s also enraged tens of millions of Americans who voted for and like Donald Trump, not to mention those who love their football and MMA.

Meryl Streep just proved what I have known for the longest time, liberal celebrities live in a bubble, inside their mega million dollar mansions, surrounded with brick walls and armed guards, and they go on TV lecturing about wanting open borders..Hey Meryl, what’s your address I can send some “Refugees” to stay with you sound like a plan? Notice Meryl had NO comment about a disabled young man in Chicago being TORTURED by Obama’s thugs/Hillary supporters..this young man was FORCED to drink out of a toilet, any comment Meryl, yeah I didnt think so

*Same here, never been a big fan & would never go see a movie just because she’s in it..if anything, opposite. Her voice annoying & she overacts in all her roles.
Just my opinion.

Meryl is a graduate of Vassar and Yale, so she probably is actually intelligent. Too bad she isn’t very wise and lacks common sense.

Do people not understand that if they watch these hollow, meaningless “awards” shows they’re doing nothing but providing a platform for a horde of self-congratulatory, smug leftists to push their brainless agenda?

Who really gives a tin squat about the golden globes? We all know that these movies and “stars” are only recognized to the degree they offend and alienate Deplorable America. So why would anyone watch them?

Meryl Streep crapping on Trump was about as predictable as a pigeon crapping on my car.

Isn't it amazing and a bit ironic........

When actors/actresses pretend to be someone else they are called genius and get paid lavishly...When they play themselves they come off as idiots that nobody would pay to see or hear...

Definition of luvvie. EnglishLearner ... People sometimes refer to actors as luvvies as a humorous way of criticizing their emotional behaviour and their feeling that they are important. [British, humorous ...

Meryl Streep was pathetic. From the comments I read, she made herself look ridiculous.
