“The Sunday Morning Bray”, by Bray!

And it shall be when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What is this? That thou shalt say unto him, By strength of hand the Lord brought us out from Egypt, from the house of bondage: Exodus 13:14

The Marxists are crying the old You Broke it, You Own It chant as they hold a handful of shattered splinters. Is there anything they do which does not come with a 60’s cliché? Time for the Repubs to put the nail in the coffin and say, You Broke it, We Own It.

This election was won on two issues, immigration and ObamaCare so we must own both. There are no easy solutions for either of them, so we may as well take our medicine and be done with it. There are really two issues about insurance and that is availability and cost which is what the Affordable Care Act was supposed to address. Everyone has a terrible plan and has priced everyone out of even that coverage and now nobody can afford to go to the doctor if they can find one.

The goal is for DC to be completely out of the healthcare system and let insurance companies do what they do best which is to pay for hospital care. The hard medicine is to eliminate forcing companies to insure people and ask them to begin a high risk pool the people are going to have to pay for. Right now those people are being paid for by their neighbors who have good health which the gummit calls fair. Why should someone be paying $10-20,000 for he and his wife’s healthcare while a drug addict pays the same or nothing? Why should people be paying $20K before they receive their first dollar of care? Why is that fair and why is that supposedly not shattered glass?

The Marxists broke the system by vilifying the Insurance Company just like they vilify everything. The insurance industry was the brilliance of sharing the risk so nobody was wiped out from a healthcare catastrophe. Everyone pays into that company and when they go into the hospital the insurance company pays the bill. Everyone complained about the cost, but it never had this bloated costs or the gummit mandates which require them to give a Cadillac plan whether they want it or not which force up the costs and deductibles which are hidden costs.

Insurance should be for covering you if you have cancer or heart disease and forget the small stuff. To get there we are going to continue with OBCare 2.0 or take the tough road and say there are no free lunches.
America has to understand it will be gone in 18 months if the Congress did nothing. There are going to be no companies to underwrite this boondoggle without doubling premiums again of just walking away and then everyone will be without policies. Covering everyone sounds really good, but in reality is only a pipe dream and not realistic. Why should someone with cancer have the same premium quote as someone perfectly healthy?

The first step is to eliminate all mandates from the gummit and let the insurance industry begin to heal itself. There is no reason kids should be forced to have insurance if they don’t want it. There is no reason parents should be forced to cover their children if they don’t want to. This is just a smokescreen to make the young healthy people to pay for the elderly premiums. There is no reason anyone should be forced to carry insurance if they do not see the need or can self-insure.

The insurance industry needs to set-up a high risk pool for the uninsurable. This will be a high cost catastrophic plan which will be the hardest yet the most important piece of moving out of ZeroCare. America has to understand we are all in that pool now so we have to bite the bullet and take the healthy ones out and move away from their Marxist model.

Once the different levels of risk are costed and pooled then it is up to the insurance companies to become competitive. By having an Amazon type marketing program and comparative shopping these plans will become more and more cost effective as they streamline their costs and programs.

What most people basically need is something which will pay if the worst happens, a lengthy stay in the hospital. Most can work out a payment plan for $5-10K, but could never pay that $100,000 hospital bill which is where insurance steps in. So, most would be happy with an affordable plan with a $5-10K plan that would pay any catastrophic event. If someone wants everything paid and can afford it then that option would also be available.

The biggest issue is all of these plans would have to be underwritten to qualify, but once you are on the plan you cannot be cancelled. This also means there will people who are not covered and would have to go into the high risk pool and pay additional premiums or get into a group plan through their employer. Right now these people are going to be out on their own as ClownCare collapses of its own weight so these are the Americans who are going to have to be the toughest. The ultimate goal is to get them covered early and have coverage their entire lives and work their way back to becoming insurable.

If this type of plan was induced there would no longer be any gummit funding and that portion of the budget would be eliminated and in a few short years would be working for the American people. It will be very hard to get through those first few years with much economic pain and some people who have coverage will not have any or a limited policy, but they too will find coverages as they come available in the marketplace.

The overall cost will be way down for individuals and companies and up for certain high risk individuals. This is actually the way nature works and the fairest way to cover everyone. The question is if anyone in the District of Corruption has the backbone to speak the tough word to American that ObamaCare is a dying of cancer? If Americans are strong enough to accept this message and take the chemo, within five years they will be cancer free and breathing the cool breath of affordable, quality health insurance. This is going to be the WWIII of DC.

Time for a Trumptweet, They Broke it, We Own It. The adults are back in charge.

Pray for President Trump

Note: The above opinion is not necessarily my own, but FReeper Bray’s. If you wish to discuss this, please ping Bray.

Negative 6 where I am right now - 7-8” of snow fell in our immediate area (more further east) Friday night/yesterday. I got one vehicle cleaned off (doors/windshield wipers working) & got around our long, circular driveway 3 times to make tracks. The snowplow “mountains” at the end of each driveway had to be shoveled off to the side as well - they freeze hard - it’s like trying to get over a concrete barrier if you don’t shovel them the day they get plowed. Churches have canceled services today (almost 600 total closings in the area & it’s still the weekend) & I’m sure schools will be closed until Wednesday, if not longer. Spring is a long way off, but I’m READY!! :-) Stay warm, stay safe everybody.

Thanks for providing the thread AB much appreciated.Cold here in the fab Fla. Keys all the way into the 50's!!

I wonder if any of the DBM will talk about the shooter Aashiq Hammad aka Esteban Santiago Ruiz or will they still be rattling about how Russia stole everyone's lunch and was nasty to Hillary.

By the way a lot of the intel the three agencies, not seventeen, are using is years old. But, don't let that get in the drivebys way.

Meanwhile a $105,000 reward has been levied by those who still want the killer of Seth Rich.

This will be a hot thread today. Lots to cover and uncover.

Great post as usual bud.

From what I have read the Congress can defund Zerocare and do a number of other things to get rid of it. But, we will have to do it kicking and dragging the usual losers along the way.The left will oppose anything we do that's a given. They are sore losers and to keep the campaign money coming in from other far lefties they just say no to anything we want.

The rino attacks however remain largely our incompetence of not getting rid of key rinos who constantly cave to the left. Our failure of not getting rid of McQueeg and Linda Graham will surely make life miserable for many since these two banda de los ocho members will surely throw monkey wrenches into every bill that comes along until they get the right size pacifier. We need to do some serous thinking about how we get rid of the wrong people when primaries come along.

The week just passed

I loved that PE Donald Trump called Schumer a clown. Because if ever there was a clown that deserved to be called a clown, it would be Schumer.

I am to understand that the guy who did that attack at Fort Lauderdale airport was somehow involved as a Muslim.

But of course. The people who propagandize ISIS or even our country’s BlackLivesMatter….they know the nut jobs out there will join their cause.

This way they achieve their goal, which is to terrorize us, but they get to hold their hands up, nice and clean.

Did y’all know that Obama gave self a medal?

“Ash Carter yesterday pinned a military medal — the Department of Defense Medal for Distinguished Public Service — on his boss, as Warner Todd Huston reported for Breitbart”.

Heh.

But then pride and dignity aren’t words used often to describe Barack Obama.

Finally, yeah I been watching those hearings on the so-called cyber-attacks on our elections by the Russians.

I figured out the reason for all this brouhaha being made over this Russian thing.

Of course it’s for Hillary.

They like to create their own history, these communist/liberals.

Like John Kerry changed “swiftboating” into a verb meaning to lie about, the Clintons and their buddies will, in the future, refer vaguely to that election that the Russians took away from her.

And it don’t help that John McCain and Lindsay are sticking their ugly mug into all this.

I predict there will be big arguments between Trump and McCain once Trump is President.

On a Personal Note

Allow me to begin this missive with a caveat. Beelow is from Guatamala, he currently rents the house my daughter, Munchausen afflicted, destroyed. He was brought to America when a teenager by his parents. This type of immigration makes him a “Dreamer”.

I do not want to get in any argument with any Freeper about daring to be human to immigrants or other crimes I may have committed. Trust that no one despises illegal immigration more than me, only I blame the idiots creating these “sanctuary cities” against all laws, not the people taking advantage of the offer, and I especially don’t blame the poor kids brought to America by their parents when they were underage. Now they are not legal, some would argue, through no fault of their own.

That being said, I do believe that President Trump is going to take care of these immigrants. I don’t know how but I am confident that this country will get on the right track and no, I do not believe that blanket amnesty should be granted to anyone not here legally. That would include Beelow and he knows how I feel. I suspect Trump will make these dreamers learn English, if they don’t already know, take citizenship tests, get papers of some sort, pay your damn taxes, get legal drivers’ licenses.

Meanwhile, me, as American as they come with ancestors here since the 1600’s, is learning about….well things.

Today I share the story of the Guatamalan and the snow storm.

Part of Beelow’s rent has him taking care of my yard, both in the summer, which is no problem, and in the snow storm.

In the interim I have come to meet Beelow’s family, four boys they look like a set of Russian dolls, tallest to smallest. Beelow takes care of my house that he rents for money but also for his labor. He is quiet, his kids are respectful. The neighbors have all come to grow fond of them. Many of the people in our community employ Beelow to do their landscaping. As for Beelow, he has come to meet many neighbors, knows more of them than me.

Beelow has his own company, such as it is, but he also works daily for a professional landscaper. He works harder than any human being I’ve ever known besides my father, he always looks nice, he’s reasonably versed in English though we have language issues. He invited me to his siblings’ (he really calls them siblings, so cool) homes for both Christmas and New Year’s Eve. I put on my shrewd eyes and wonder about me spending those holidays with a bunch of Guatemalans. Heh. Maybe next year.

He told me of his dream to have his own business and believe me he does a wonderful job, takes pride. I had Beelow doing my landscaping for over two years when he approached me about renting my house, which he had been mowing but when he realized it was empty he wanted to live in it.

It was a godsend for me. My daughter had ripped out all the appliances, she painted huge black images on the walls, she let her dog poop all over the place. Beelow moved in, no questions asked. He has painted the walls in that house, installed appliances. He has decorated the outside of that house with the Christmas lights visible for miles.

Amazing. He’s just been amazing.

Beelow knows that he must clean my sidewalks etc. when it snows.

Yesterday it snowed, about eight inches, in fact.

Beelow shows up with some kind of roller thing I guess that distributes salt. This and a shovel.

Which was fine to do my short sidewalk but Beelow decided he was going to clean my entire driveway. My driveway is pretty big.

Now I DO have an electric shovel, which we got hooked up and hell yeah, he did clear my entire driveway! He also cleaned my porch, my back deck, the front of my garage and of course, the sidewalk.

He then ponders going into business shoveling snow.

I then must sing a song for Beelow…”There is NO snow in Guatamala!” Beelow laughs and tells me that, heh, no, there is NO snow in Guatamala.

Imagine living somewhere where there is no snow. I mean in an entire country with NO snow.

So Beelow and I discuss this wonderful big business he’s going to create (and I really think he will but he WILL be a legal citizen, I promise this) and he considers removing snow.

He likes my snow shovel but he really needs some big thing, Beelow tells me. Beelow has very good tools for his side business, he knows what he needs. He also, I don’t know how he does it, has a labor force that he sends out. Sometimes they show up at my door, with warning from Beelow, and they work all day. I got the best yard in this community and now, heh, I got TWO houses with great yards! And don’t forget those gorgeous Christmas lights!

But Beelow was taken aback by this snow. I must suppose he’s seen snow before but this time he was cleaning it up and surprise, surprise, you only got to mow the lawn once but when the snow is falling you might have to shovel three or four times!

He was also quite cold. Finally I told him to go home and get warm. But hey, my porch, my back deck, my entire driveway and my sidewalk are shoveled AND SALTED!

He told me if there was more accumulation he would come back tomorrow.

Meanwhile, let’s see what the Trump administration does about these illegal immigrants. All of Beelow’s children were born in America.

The people you elected did this. Even, last month, to making, get this, the University of Delaware a sanctuary campus.

I think it will be interesting to watch how Beelow, and his wife who speaks very little English…..get through this.

Stay warm onyx. Thanks for stopping by.Your input is always appreciated.
FR has been at the forefront of the Aashiq Hammad,Esteban Santiago Ruiz shooter story that happened in Fort Lauderdale.
Lots of questions remain but a lot is being dug up as we move along.
Here is an early thread on the shooter.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3511505/posts

Esteban Santiago, reportedly a U.S. citizen with military identification, is accused of being the shooter who randomly gunned down at least 13 people at a Fort Lauderdale airport baggage claim area.

MSNBC said the shooter may have retrieved a gun from his luggage after arriving on a flight and NBC News reported that the weapon may have been checked “lawfully.” The Palm Beach Post reported that the gunman may have emerged firing from a bathroom. Some reports said he traveled through Canada, but ABC News is now reporting he went from Anchorage through Minneapolis to Fort Lauderdale.

1. The Alleged Shooter Had Lived in New Jersey & Is a U.S. Citizen, News Reports Say

“Law enforcement source: #FortLauderdale shooter is 26 year old U.S. citizen, born in NJ,” reported Fox News’ Rick Leventhal on Twitter.

He had lived in Alaska and Naples, Florida, reported NBC Miami. According to the Mirror, the shooter “was apprehended by authorities when he stopped shooting to reload, witnesses said.”

He was born in March 1990.

According to NBC Washington, “Alaskan court records show an Esteban Santiago with the same date of birth was charged with two misdemeanors last year; one count was dismissed and Santiago was due back in court on the second this coming March.”

The Daily Beast reported that he “lived in Anchorage, Alaska from 2014 to 2016.”

2. The Accused Shooter Was Carrying Military Identification & Was Previously in the National Guard

According to ABC Fort Lauderdale, a U.S. senator, Bill Nelson, said “the 26-year-old was carrying a military identification.”

The National Guard confirmed he had been a member but said he was honorably discharged four months ago:

Nelson also said the accused shooter used a handgun during the mass shooting.

The shooter was not injured when taken into custody, the sheriff said in a news conference. The gunman didn’t say anything while firing, according to NBC.

NBC News reported that the shooter’s family is from Puerto Rico, and he served in National Guard and signed up in August 2016. “He signed up on that just a few months ago…He was not on any active duty,” NBC News reported.

3. The Shooter Randomly Targeted People Waiting For Their Luggage

News reports said that the multiple people – as many as 13 – were shot and killed by the active shooter in the baggage claim area.

One eyewitness told NBC Miami that he was standing in baggage claim when the active shooter walked in and started randomly shooting people, including several people in the head. He said that people were left bloodied and that people fell on each side of him.

That witness’ wife held a scarf to a person’s wound to try to save their life, an NBC Miami reporter said.

KVIA-TV reported that the shooting occurred inside Terminal 2, which hosts Delta Air Lines and Air Canada.

“People started kind of screaming and trying to get out of any door they could or hide under the chairs,” a witness, Mark Lea, told MSNBC. “He just kind of continued coming in, just randomly shooting at people, no rhyme or reason to it.”

Lea told the network that the shooter used a handgun with three magazines of ammunition and “went up and down the carousels of the baggage claim, shooting through luggage to get at people that were hiding.”

The gunman then tossed down the gun and “lay spread-eagle on the ground,” reported MSNBC.

4. The Suspect May Have Arrived on a Flight & Checked His Gun Into His Luggage

The suspect, identified as Santiago, was reported to be in custody. The shooting unfolded about 12:55 p.m. Eastern Standard time in Florida.

“It was a harrowing, frightening scene,” said an NBC News reporter, “as the shooter was shooting up the baggage claim area.”

MSNBC is reporting the shooter allegedly came from a flight in Canada, checked his gun in his luggage and then got it out in baggage claim. NBC News also reported that the gunman may have gotten his gun through in baggage, not on his person.

A Broward County Sheriff’s Deputy took the shooter into custody, the sheriff said at the news conference. NBC reported that the accused shooter may have shot fellow passengers, as they were the grouping of people from the suspect’s plane.

5. Despite Fears, There Was No Second Active Shooter

News reports said that the TSA was reporting there might be a second active shooter at the airport around 3 p.m. EST. People were reportedly running through the airport, but details were very unclear.

There were reports that there might be more than one active shooter as people at the airport were told – again – to take shelter as authorities searched for a second possible shooter. NBC Miami said some people had fainted as people ran for safety and were evacuated. There was a massive law enforcement response as authorities – from the ATF to the FBI and local police – hunted for a possible second shooter. However, it now appears there was not a second shooter, and by 3:30 p.m. EST, the mayor was back to saying there might only be a lone gunman.

By later in the afternoon, the sheriff confirmed there was believed to be no other shooter.

It was not yet clear what the motive was for the mass shooting or whether it was the result of a domestic motive or a foreign one.
