Can’t buy the cowboy hats analogy. Whatever it is, it represents the raghead image, and IMHO, it’s a sad day when Americans start wearing the enemy uniform. I spent 3+ years in Japan, but NEVER saw a GI with a Jap army cap, or rising sun flag. WTF has happened to STANDARDS?
Pretty common to see these scarves on US soldiers in Iraq. Does the US military issue these? See them on guys practicing military-style shooting here too, as part of their ‘tactical’ gear.
I don’t get it, for sure, but it is no indication by itself of affinity for Islam. In this Santiago guy’s case, it IS a legitimate question. Or the photo could just be from Iraq.
