It is legal to transport the gun through checked baggage, if you unload the gun and have two states that honor the carry permit.

Two weeks ago I checked it out. I had a trip to Florida, but I had no bag to check. So I left the gun at home.

Years ago, thugs would go after tourist in Florida, knowing they just got off a plane and had no weapon.

Carry permit not required.

You don’t need s carry permit to ship an unloaded gun in your carry-on luggage — just an approved container.

Canada is not a state. I do not know how this guy got a hand gun in Canada or got it on the plane. It would not have been legal for this guy to have a hand gun in Canada.
