Decided to find a link on Ambassadors. Roughly 45 are political appointees, the remainder of the 188 total are career, and presumable covered by civil service protections.

Thanks for that list.
Thrilled to see Costos (Spain), a political campaign bundler, get kicked out. His boyfriend, Michael Smith, is Bathhouse Barry’s interior decorator. He did the WH and all of their houses, including this new one in DC two doors down from sicko Tony Podesta. Also, the one “in the neighborhood” near them in CA. That’s how Costos got the appointment. Then, Malia was given an internship with Costos in Spain this last summer. She chose to dump that once in a lifetime experience for more mind altering experiences with drugs and alcohol.
Tee hee, one less Kennedy. Looking forward to the day they’re unknowns in the political world.
Thanks for that. I wondered about that in another post and I was going to go look it up after I’d finished the replies here. You saved me the trouble.
Pretty confusing. We’re not seeing the same thing. From your link and that’s the first term only, I don’t see the numbers you referenced except the “188” as total positions and I have no idea what that means. I can’t see anything that totals 188. 135 and 55 don’t make it unless perhaps the 2 exceptions (1 recess and 1 nominated) were taken out of the 135? Which brings up another question - aren’t they all “nominated?”
Beats the heck out of me. I just wanted to know so now I have a picture of just how many (I think) are involved. I love seeing the “political” ones so marked. I’ve been fighting some winter “yuck” so no need to worry about my sanity.
1st term - 311 are career and 135 are political according to this. The 2nd term are 55 political and 138 career....
